Customer Review: Nice looking and functional, but has minor usability issues.

This scale is very nice looking, and seems sturdy. When you step on, it starts counting. If you continue to stand on it, it will count to ten twice, then turn off... leaving you wondering. Why not just give a weight at that point?
Maybe I'm out of touch with scale technology, but I expect to step on a scale and have it tell me how much I weigh. More advanced features are fine (and I expect to read the manual before being able to take advantage of them), but stepping on the scale and getting a weight is a pretty nice out-of-the-box feature. I docked it half a star for failing to deliver that basic functionality.
I found the documentation easy to understand. Once you take the time to read the manual (or happen to notice that you can step off any time before the count completes, then step back on for a weight), the scale seems to measure weight accurately. I can't vouch for the accuracy of body fat and water measures--I haven't compared it with other sources.
It also has buttons on the front, which seems less convenient than having buttons on the back or top where they'd be toe-accessible. This seems noteworthy for a high capacity scale likely to be used by people who might have trouble reaching the buttons with their fingers. Fortunately those buttons are only important for initial setup, so I only docked it another half star.
I like it overall, but it made a poor first impression. Fortunately first impressions become less important over time, and this scale seems like it will last. I do not recommend it for an environment where there will be frequent new users, though.

As a scale, I give this product 5 stars. It gives me accurate and consistent readings every time. I went with a high capacity scale as I've got size 14 feet that dangle over the sides of most commercial scales giving me inaccurate readings. The large surface area of this scale has made that a non-issue and I've been very please with the product in that regard.
As a body fat analyzer, this product did not live up to my expectations. I was displeased to find this product does not in fact have an Athlete setting for body fat measurements as is claimed in Amazon's description of the product. As a lifelong weightlifter I have always found body fat analyzers very inaccurate due to my increased muscle mass. I thought this product would be able to provide me with accurate body fat measurements by way of having a setting specifically for athletes. Unfortunately that has not been the case as the scale routinely advises me I have approximately 35% body fat which is in direct conflict with caliper & hydrostatic testing that has put me at around 20% body fat.
I was going to knock my review of the scale down to 3 stars over, seemingly, false advertising. I decided not to because I reviewed both the instruction manual and Escali's website and found no claims of this product featuring an athlete setting. Therefore the fault may lie with Amazon's listing of the product and not the product itself.
In summary, a good scale for large individuals. A subpar bodyfat analyzer for anyone with above average levels of muscle mass.

I love the look and the function of this scale. I don't know my exact body fat percentage, but I have a good idea and this scale seems fairly accurate (much more so than my old one).
The pros:
It has settings for up to 10 people (my old body fat scale only had 2).
The setting buttons are on the back, which is a plus when you have a toddler that likes to play with buttons and reset your settings on a regular basis.
To turn it on, you only have to step on it instead of pushing any buttons. You keep pressure on it longer to scroll through your preset settings.
You can have it in just weigh mode (instead of body fat & hydration mode), which is useful for weight toddlers, pets, etc.
It looks great.
It does body weight, percentage of body fat, and hydration.
The round shape makes it great for people with larger feet without taking up too much room.
The scale can weigh very large people (I think it goes up to 440 pounds).
The cons:
It is quite tippy. My 2 year old has stepped on it and tipped it over a number of times (once he hit his head on the toilet as he fell). Because of this, we can't leave it out on the bathroom floor. You need to make sure your feet are centered, because I had it tip on me once as well as I stepped off.
Bottom line: I like this scale, but do be careful as you step on & off, and keep an eye on any toddlers around it.

We just bought a new Treadmill and plan on starting a diet plan once we return from vacation. So we thought we should buy a new scale to use as well. This scale is classy looking, and is pretty accurate. It has settings for either kilograms or pounds, it has 10 settings for up to 10 different users. When you initially turn it on, you will program it to your information such as gender, height, and age. Once you have done that you are ready to go, just step on and it will tell you your weight, water %, and body fat %. As someone else said in their review this item is not waterproof, so you might want to steer away from sitting it anywhere close to where it will or can absorb a lot of water. I have seen people store their scale next to their commodes and I would strongely suggest not doing that with this scale. If your commode overflows then it would ruin your scale.
This scale is very easy to use, easy to set up, and from what I can tell its very accurate with the information it provides you. I also like they way it looks. It costs alittle more than what I would normally pay for a bathroom scale, but now that I have the item and have used it I am glad that I paid the additional money and purchased this item. I always say you get what you pay for and in most cases that is very true. This in my opinion was a great investment and I would not hesitate to purchase it again.

I received this item in the mail about a week ago so I can't tell you how long it will last but I can tell you the immediate cons and pros.
Cons:
Pieces were missing (Black things on the bottom, there was only two)
There was small glitches (Wouldn't work like it said on the directions: It said just tap your foot on the scale and it will show lbs and it wouldn't even do that.. you have to push the buttons)
Noticeable scratches were all over.
For heavy people, it's kind of small but it's like almost the same size as every other scale but my other one is bigger.
I drink a lot of water and I am almost positive that the water and fat percentages are off by a lot. (I have three different scales and the other two are more similar than this one.. it's way off)
Pros:
It's pretty and it works sufficient for the price.
There's batteries in it!
It holds a lot of weight unlike a non-digital scale.
It will even weigh your cat! My other scales will not go that low.
It holds up to ten different people information but I forgot, here's another con.. it will not memorize it or put it in memory of what your weight/water/fat was. (Which was a big con for me.. sorry I forgot to put that.)
Well, overall, if you don't want a superb scale worth more and your okay with the above for the price than it's a good scale!
