I bought this scale after a 10 min search and review of products available at Amazon (lots of them available and my head was spinning).I decided to pass on the big brands (Conair, etc...) products because it seem to me they are all hit am miss (some are god some are really bad...too many choices and not consistent quality and too litle time to read all the reviews and choose a good one). I decided to buy this scale because is made by a company that specializes on scales only and they offer a 5 years warranty on their product so they must be confident in their products.
Compared to my existing scale (a gift from my friends, made by Healthmeter or something like that) this scale is very fast and the measurements are very good (good accuracy both the resolution and repeatibility...yes, I am scientist). I tried many scales in various local stores here in the DFW Metroplex and this scale feels more solid than any other that I've tried in the stores.
The fat measurement are simple to set-up(even a caveman can do it:), just enter male/female, age and higth) and they were were reliable in my case. I am a large frame guy, 5'11" and 190 lbs, and get 18% fat and 60% water every single time I measured myyself for the past few weeks. Still trying to shake loose the 5-10 lbs holiday lbs :) Btw this is teh first time I decided to contribute a litle... so this is my first review ever :)

This is a wonderful and easy to use scale!! Like many other customers, we had our user numbers set up and running with in minutes. The manual was easy to understand, contrary to what other users said. There is not an athlete setting - just male and female - despite what Amazon claims.
To just weigh yourself, place your foot on the scale, wait for it to turn on (it shows 88888) remove your foot, and wait for it to set to zero, then weigh. If you're wanting your body fat/water %, you have to use your user number that's specified to your height and age. It seems like many people thought that the body fat/water % feature wasn't working - you have to be in the user setting.
Although this is a high capacity scale, there is no minimum weight for it to be effective. Neither myself nor my boyfriend are over-weight or obese, and the scale works great and accurately for both of us. My favorite part is that it I can track how much body fat I'm losing instead of tracking my pounds lost (when you lose weight you tend to lose muscle too, unless you weight train, in which case you won't see the pounds drop so much as see the fat slide off slowly). I like being able to accurately track my progress based on fat lost.

I'd hit my all time low when my regular old scale suddenly couldn't show me what I was weighing anymore with a big E. I'd not thought of looking for a 'super size' scale but after getting fed up with it and wanting to make some changes I looked for this.
I use it only as a scale, the extra features for me were just kinda there. They are not easy to access for someone who needs to use this kind of scale and not really intuitive. I already know I'm huge and the BMI is awful so until I get a lot lower in weight I don't really care. Because these buttons are so hard to reach though I won't give this a five star review. They're across the top under the lip. So if you put the scale near a wall you can't reach them at all without moving the thing around. How hard would it have been to put the activators where you toes would be so you could tap it, get on, be done?
Good news is I was only about 8 lbs over the max, not 30 or 40 like I felt. Either way it helped me make a change in my life and the numbers have been going down.

We replaced a Tanita body fat scale with this scale because we felt like the Tanita's body fat measurement was inaccurate. Plus, you couldn't, eat, sleep or exercise within 3 hours of weighing yourself. The escali eliminates all of those requirements and provides a consistent body fat reading. My wife programmed the scale for each of us and it's easy to use.
To get into your program you place one foot in the center of the scale and remove it when it gets to your program #. So - when it shows #1 on the screen, I remove my foot and wait until it shows my gender and age - then step on the scale. About 30 seconds lated it provides my weight, body fat % and water %. The only hassle is if I accidentally leave my foot on too long and get my wife's program. It takes about 90 seconds to clear out.
The design is crisp and clean and it looks nice on the floor. I have and will continue to reccomend this produc to frineds and family
Customer Review: Great when it works - but too often does not

When we bought this scale, I chose to believe the many favorable reviews and ignore the negatives (which seemed to be the minority). Having used this scale for about 3 months now, it's time for me to add to add to the negative reviews. When it works, it's great (note that we were not looking for the body fat/water analysis - only a good quality high capacity scale). However, we seen it eat through batteries as some of the other reviewers did (I think in 3 months we've had 4 or 5 sets - I lost track) - we actually have resorted to taking out the batteries when not using it. Also, we have had numerous problems where the scale continually cycles through "setup" mode when you tap it to turn it on - when this happens, you can't weigh yourself. This symptom started out happening infrequently, but now happens most of the time. Today was the last straw - I tried for about 10 minutes to get it out of this mode before I gave up - will buy a new scale today.
