I purchased this item and I have found it be a great tool for measuring body fat percentage as well as weight. For the best body fat percentage results, drink 25 oz. of water the first thing in the morning on an empty stomache, wait 30 minutes, use the restroom and weigh. The body's water percentages fluctuate throughout the day so much that this particular procedure is recommended by experts familiar with bio-impedance body fat scales as it allows for consistency in day-to-day or week-to-week weighing.Customer Review: SHED THE NICKNAME "LARDBUTT."

The scale said I was 1.5 pounds lighter than my previous scale indicated, which had me at 1.5 pounds lighter than the scale before that. I guess a scale user will feel good if a new scale shows him lighter than he thought, but maybe some industry standards are in order. Otherwise, it's consistent with itself, which is the most important thing. It's very attractive - a work of art even - and was much-appreciated by my somewhat overweight brother, who is trying to shake the nickname "lardbutt."Customer Review: Good scale!

Overall, this is a really good scale. It's pretty accurate concerning weight measuring, and it has a nice, modern look to it. The body fat and water analysis seems to be a bit off, but I dont really use those features much, so it's fine with me. The only other complaint I would have is that it is extremely sensitive scale, so you must be very still in order to stop the numbers from fluctuating back and forth between two numbers and actually get your weight. The scale does look very nice. The batteries come with it so that I could try it when it arrived!
I agree with the previous reviews on the flipping over issue of this scale. Need to be careful when stepping on it.
The manual could have been better.
I also thought it would have kept records of weight and other parameters from the previous session, but it does not. I am a bit disappointed.
So far the number has been pretty consistent.

Overall, both my husband and I like this scale. My only complaint is that in order to get a consistent read it had to be placed on the tile flooring (vs wood, low carpeting, etc). Other than that, I like the multiple profile features and the stable surface. Some of the reviews I read made me apprehensive, with respects to overall safety/balance of this scale. However, I've not once felt like I was going to slip or lose balance due to the materials the product was made with.
