There were some reviews mentioning that the recall feature on this thermometer does not work or only flashes for a second but I have not found this true. The directions say to hold down the button until you see the last temp. taken and it's as easy as that. I also found that until I took my temp. again I could continue to recall the last temp. There was no need to worry about checking the temp. before I feel back asleep (even though I always do:) because of this recall feature. Also the temp. stayed displayed for several minutes if I didn't turn it off but it does eventually turn off on its own.Customer Review: Completely inaccurate and inconsistent

I have used this thermometer for months, and I have finally gotten to the point of buying another because this one is just completely inaccurate. Sometimes when I have gotten a surprising reading (too high or too low for that day), I have taken my temp again right after, and each consecutive taking of temp has yielded dramatically different results. Just this morning I had a 98.08, and 98.22, and a 98.40 within seconds of one another. I have seen this inconsistency many times. I needed this thermometer for ovulation tracking, and with that kind of variance, it is anything but reliable.Customer Review: this product is junk

This product has none of the features you would need for it to be basically useful:
1) It takes a long time to reach your temp (2+ minutes)
2) The beep signals are weak and unclear (you can't always tell when your temp has been reached)
3) The battery started fading within a month.
4) It is not backlit and while it does not claim to be, this makes it impossible to read in a dark bedroom in the am.
It would be well-worth getting a better product even at a slightly higher cost. I am throwing this out and am going to buy a new basal thermometer.

Its easy to use but takes about 3-4 minutes to get a reading. You have to check your temp before you even get up to go to the bathroom, I have a 2yr old and so if he starts crying early in the morning it sucks because I have to either wait 3-4 minutes to get the reading first or miss some mornings. it also tells you it does a "playback" but the playback is never what my last temp was so I have to make sure I write it down every morning. I do wish I would have gotten one with a backlite to make it easier to see.
Overall if you want it to just take a temp its perfect.

Overall a good product. I like that it reads to 100th's rather than 10ths (gives more info and I can always round off), and the lack of light doesn't bother me since I always have to get up to go to the bathroom anyway and can read it in the night light. I can't comment definatively on the memory feature, I only used it once to test it out and it seemed to work OK. I don't mind the beeps, either, since I'm a little sleepy usually so the few beeps at the end makes sure I don't miss it. Only thing that could be improved is that it seems to take awhile to read.
