Customer Review: the bottle is nice. the perfume, not so great.

I first smelled this perfume on a strip in a magazine. I fell in love with both the bottle, and the scent instantaneously. I decided when I had some extra cash I would buy it or hopefully drop enough hints to get it for Christmas. Christmas came and went and no Fantasy, instead I recieved Celine Dion's fragrance. I liked the smell of the Dion but was still sad that I didn't get what I wanted. I decided to buy the fantasy for myself. Upon finding it at a makeup counter I became rather thankful I got the other. I think Fantasy smells a lot like this cotton candy spray I had in elementary school. mmmm to smell like a 4th grader again. The bottle is elegant, but the scent is juvenile. It'd be appropriate for preteens, but not grown women, then again, should I be surprised? I suppose the scent caters well to Spears' followers, 12 year olds.Customer Review: Sweet and long lasting

I just got this perfume for Valentine's Day. I love it! Yes, it is sweet smelling, as another reviewer mentions, but it's a pleasant sweetness. Cotton candy does describe it, actually. But who says grownups don't like smelling yummy?? There's a hint of vanilla as well and overall, I think the combo is fantastic!
I love Curious, and now I love Fantasy, too! They are two very different perfumes, so it's easy to understand why a person can like one and not the other. I will say, though, that Fantasy lasts far longer than Curious. You can apply it in the morning and still smell it when you go to sleep! Which, I don't mind at all...
I recommend this, of course, but I recommend you sample it before you buy. Just because you liked Curious doesn't mean you will like this one.

Britney Spears Fantasy is a warm, musky, sweet, long-lasting fragrance that is fun and romantic, in a silly, juvenile way. The notes include red lychee, golden quince, kiwi, cupcake accord, jasmine, white chocolate orchid, musk, woods, and orris root, but the cupcake, musk, and white chocolate seem to stick around the longest. While it's not as sickly sweet as that baby powder-smelling spray from the drug store, it's definitely not for someone who likes a more complex, mature or spicy scent. That being said, this is my third (!) bottle of Fantasy, despite preferring fragrances more along the lines of Chanel Chance or Marc Jacobs Daisy, and I find it to be a comforting, youthful, addictive scent that I will probably continue to buy in the future. This is quite a complex perfume and I don't know anyone who doesn't like it. I know of those who think it very sweet but I don't think you'll go into sugar shock with this one like you might with Aquolina's Pink. You can definitely smell the sweet, slightly citrus of the lychee and quince fruits after spraying but that fades to a softer vanilla-flavored cupcake with an oh-so subtle hint of chocolate. The dry down is wonderful! Exotic orris root (from the iris bulb) and a little musk and sandalwood. I LOVE this summer perfume. It is not strong but stays close and intimate on your skin and reminds me so much of every county fair I've ever been to holding hands on the ferris wheel, eating cotton candy with my boyfriend. Britney Spears Fantasy is a great smelling perfume. It's flirty and yet grown up. Reminds me of Pink Sugar, but more floral than candyish. It's not as sweet as Hilary Duff Wrapped With Love and it doesn't last nearly as long. I prefer Hilary Duff Wrapped With love bc the strength of fragrance and yummy type as well as the weartime. I spray it in the morning and I smell it in the eveing unlike Fantasy where I need to apply a fresh spritz every couple of hours. Fantasy does smell really good and the bottle is so pretty. If you're looking to buy a candy type perfume than I'd go With Duff's Wrapped With Love unless you can find Spears Fantasy cheaper. The strength and the length make buying this at retail ridiculous.
