Customer Reviews of Farouk CHI 1 Inch Ceramic Flat Hairstyling IronCustomer Review: The Chi is wonderful Summary: 5 Stars
I have shoulder length wavy hair- and have always longed for straight hair. The people who cut my hair have used a Chi and I always loved how it looked, but attributed some of that to the professional expertise of the hairstylists. I decided to treat myself and buy the Chi and really learn how to get my hair the way that I like it ( smooth and straight)
I love this Chi. It's great- it is completely different from all the cheapie straighteners out there. It straightens, makes it soft and smooth.
I use a spray on my hair ( Matrix Gold in a black bottle- smells great) and then I get to work on my hair. People compliment my hair- and i just really like how it looks. I feel like I have had a blow-out every day of the week.
For people who are concerned about the price, add up all the things that you have bought to straighten your hair ( creams, gels, cheapie straightners) and then just go and buy the Chi- it will be the best money you have spent on your hair.
Also if you have a little extra- go ahead and get the Chi hairdryer. I used to think a hair dryer was a hair dryer, but no more. I have the Chi 1300- and absolutely love it.
Here's to good hair days for you readers!
Customer Review: Why have I waited so long.....black women this is an excellent product for our hair too Summary: 5 Stars
I love my new CHI. Normally I never have a problem paying more to get the best. In this case I waited and debated on getting the CHI because of the cost. In the meantime I was at the salon every two weeks loving the results my stylist was giving me with her CHI. Well I got mine this weekend. I am a black woman with shoulder length relaxed hair and right about now you can't tell me nothing. My hair is shiny, silky and lays like I have a fresh relaxer. Oh I can't explain how good it feels to know I can get salon results at home. The best part, I just let the hair air dry and straightened my whole head in small sections. It took about 30 min. I then bumped it under and wrapped it. My 12 y/o daughter has just past shoulder length natural hair. She washed and conditioned her hair and I put it in 6 box braids to air dry (the braids keep it from drawing up too tightly). Once it dried I took it down one section at a time and oiled it and straightened it with the CHI in small sections. We could not be more pleased with the results. It looks like somebody put the old school press and curl on it, but better. She can wrap hers now too and the hair looks healthy and wonderful. My only regret is waiting so long.
Customer Review: This is the one to buy Summary: 5 Stars
I absolutely love this flat iron. I have to agree with the majority of the reviewers here that this is the ultimate flat iron. I have not received mine yet, but my friend let me use her "chi" flat iron since I had forgotten mine. I was perfectly happy with my off brand that I had bought at a Sally Hansen store, also a ceramic flat iron. But after I used my friends chi, it looked like I had gone to the hairdresser and had done all the fancy work. I didn't even put any product in my hair!!!
I was not oblivious to the chi, my sister in law has had it for years, but I could not bring myself to spend the money, of course since she lives in another state I never really saw how easy it handled and great it worked!!! I don't understand some of the reviewers who say it doesn't get their hair perfectly straight, my sister in law is Part Puerto Rican and has really curly curly hair and very very thick and this is the absolutely only product that will straighten it and keep it "silky straight" at least it is her words. She has long hair and it only takes her 15 minutes to straighten it, without product as well.
Ok, well sorry for my lengthy rant but I am exstatic and can't wi to get my chi!!!
Customer Review: Instant Defrizzer Summary: 5 Stars
I own this product and I can say that, by far, it is the best flat iron on the market. The key to silky, frizz-free hair is to close the hair cuticle and this is accomplished by extremely high heat quickly applied to the hair. The Farouk CHI is extremely hot, almost instantly. It's 100% ceramic which heats up instantly and causes it to glide through the hair. It's important to keep it clean so it continues to glide through without stopping along the way or you will get small creases on your hair. This is best accomplished by cutting it on and very carefully rubbing the ceramics with a dryer sheet. Remember to be careful not to burn yourself. All styling product buildup will come off. I do need to add that one reviewer stated that she towel dries her hair and then uses the CHI to dry and defrizz her hair. This should never be done with a CHI or any other flat iron because it just fries and cooks the hair causing breakage and damage and more frizziness. A good hair heat protectant should be applied to dry hair prior to using the CHI or any flat iron. The CHI especially needs one because of the high, instant heat that makes it work so quickly and wonderfully! Enjoy this product but be careful with it!
Customer Review: Never fails... Summary: 1 Stars
This is chi #4 for me and no matter what lengths I go to to keep the cord straight and to never drop this booger, they always die after a year or two of use. First I notice the red light begin to blink a little (not the normal heat cycle blink either), then it gets progressively worse. Before I know it I am coaxing it to stay on so it will get hot enough to straighten one measly portion of my barely shoulder-length hair. They always say to mail it back and they will fix it, but I tried that with two others and when they FINALLY mailed them back (took about 4 months), the "fix" lasted only a few short weeks. I LOVE this product when it works, but I keep giving CHI another chance and time and time again, I have to bury another (I've never seen them listed as cheap as here, but I was paying 150-300 bucks for my other ones, yeah a really expensive investment to die after a year!). I hope it does not happen to you, but beware I am not the only one who has had this problem, many of my friends experienced the same trauma. There was even a guy where I live that specialized in CHI repair, I'm not kidding! So I am on the hunt for another flat iron device, let me know if you have any suggestions!
