My boyfriend was tired of hearing me complain about never being able to get my hair straight enough w/ my cheap, cruddy flat iron, so last Christmas he bought me this Chi. It's wonderful! It is my third iron, and it's still holding up well, with only minimal wear. My hair is so thick & frizzy, so I've always used a 2" or larger iron in the past. With the Chi, however, handling is much smoother, and the controls are well-built (so you can't switch it off, or move the temperature to low by accident). The cord swivels, so it's harder to get it stuck between the ceramic plates (which was a BIG problem I've had w/ cheaper irons). I have been using this iron at LEAST once per day since I received it, and like I said, it's still going strong. If you have seriously unruly hair, or if you just have longer hair, I'd definitely get this 2" Chi... it cuts your styling time in half!Customer Review: nice product

I was worried this chi would not live up to the hype. I have never been too crazy about the idea of buying a hair item that cost more than 50 dollars. It came in today and my hair which is past my shoulders was completely straight and shiny in 10 minutes, and I did not have to blow dry it straight-ish first. My hair is naturally curly, and cannot be blown dry straight and was barely straight after 30-45 minutes with a flat iron. So after an hour of blow-drying and straightening my hair looked sort of okay with my 20 dollar straightner. I live in Houston Texas and if you have been there you know our humidity is fun for hair. I was outside for an hour and with the chi my hair STAYED straight. That never happened with my cheaper straighteners. I am extremely happy with the straightening results! I'm what most would call, a hair snob. I always try to have my hair perfect before leaving the house. Straighteners are must-haves for those of us with wavy or semi-wavy hair. I've used many of them in hopes of finding the perfect straightener....
This hair straightener was a last resort for me, I've gone through many of them. Either they die out, or yank your hair, don't get hot enough, so your hair is just kind of half-straight, or make awful smells. I got this on an Amazon Gold Box Deal and figured if it didn't work, I'd be able to return it.
This is the best! It heats up super fast, gives you stick straight shiny hair, no smell of the appliance to make your hair smell funky! Best of all, it doesn't pullout all your hair or break it! I highly recommend this straightener!!!!!!!!

I have very thick coarse curley hair and straightening is usually a joke. This 2" Chi Turbo is the only iron I have found to do the job and have it last for over 24 hours. It makes my hair straight, shiney and manageable and I look more like a model than ever!!! I could do a commercial for this product! I find the 2" great for my thick hair as I can do bigger sections in a shorter amount of time. I love the variable temp control and leave it right in the middle for perfect straight shiney hair every time. I also use the chi products for thermal protection since my coarse hair is also dry. You will be very satisfied buying this product and spending this amount of money. It is well worth taking great care of your hair if you use an iron. I find the straightener to work as good as my sister's that I tried before purchasing. I usually spend about $60 on a curling iron (yes, to straighten my hair) every few years. The only reason I have to replace those is because they are hard to clean. The straigtener gives me straighter hair in half the time (1 hour for very long hair) and my hair looks and feels healthier. It's also easy to clean and heats up incredibly fast. I chose this size after my sister with medium length hair said you can do wider sections (not bigger chunks, but wider strips) than with the 1 inch that my other sister has. My natural hair is very curly and normal texture. I worry about the burnout factor of these, so hopefully it will last a few years to justify the price.
