I've been using this lift on the left foot due to the left leg being shorter. When I use it, I don't have lower back pain, neck & shoulder pain that I normally do without the lift.
I tried another type (the hard brown plastic ones), and I don't like the inflexibility. They're very difficult to wear with shoes that are low on the back of the heel. I can wear these with Skechers that don't come up high on the heel and it doesn't look like my heel is coming out of my shoe.
The spongy flexibility is what I like about this product, because it's comfortable and conforms to what I'm wearing. I wear the lift under the Spenco walker/runner inserts which were recommended by a podiatrist. The lift works well with the Spenco inserts, as long as the original shoe inserts are removed. I love this product, and I can quickly tell if I forget to put the lift in because my lower back starts hurting.
