Customer Reviews of Futuro Plantar Fasciitis Sleep SupportCustomer Review: Really does help relieve overnight Fasciitis pain Summary: 5 Stars
I don't submit reviews unless I am really impressed by a product. I have been suffering from acute Plantar Fasciitis for over 2 months that was aggravated by a sports injury. I used to wake up in the morning unable to step on my heel due to the pain. I investigated several braces which were designed for the same purpose. I selected this one because it was the least bulky. It really does help and has significantly reduced the morning pain but you still need to follow up with proper exercise and medical care because this only works on the symptoms caused by overnight shrinking of the membranes. Repeated over-stretching of the fascia, pressure on the bone spur, and constant pressure on the heel during the day contributes to aggravating the condition. Also get the proper orthotics under the care of a specialist for your specific condition.
Customer Review: Works for me Summary: 5 Stars
After weighing all the options, I decided to try the Futuro night splint for my plantar fasciitis. The Futuro has a strip of plastic in front and the rest is soft fabric with velcro fasteners. By the way, the info on the box says: ". . . The adjustable fasteners create a customized fit for most body types. Measure the circumference approximately 2" above the ankle bone." "Adjust to fit 8-15 inches." So, if the measurement of your leg above your ankle bone is less than 8 inches or more than 15 inches, this splint will either be too big or too small for you. My leg measures 12 inches and I wear a size 11 women's shoe. The splint is comfortable to wear and has helped to alleviate the horrible heel pain I had every morning when I got out of bed.
Customer Review: Works from "night" one. Summary: 4 Stars
The first few nights you wear the splint, it may seem bulky and uncomfortable. However, the difference your foot feels in the morning after wearing it versus not wearing it is like night and day. In the beginning, it won't be "pain free" but over time, I've noticed that it really does help, along with taking an NSAID before going to bed. I haven't experienced the problems with it coming off during night as some reviewers state. Also, it takes a few days for you to figure out exactly how to wear this so your toes stay as close to the upper support as possible. My only reason for four stars and not five is that I have a feeling the velcro/strap around the toes/ball of the foot area is going to wear out quickly.
Customer Review: Not what I thought Summary: 1 Stars
While this brand is well known for it's sports wraps and medical equipment, this particular product has fallen short.
It states that it will keep your foot and ankle in a "flex" position therefore aiding in stretching the plantar faciitis tendon while you sleep. I have worn this brace for 3 nights- the flexion is not severe enough to stretch anything, and the calf strap slips down during the night. It is not uncomforable, but I don't find it very helpful. I still have severe pain upon waking, though I will say I haven't experienced the "at rest" pain as much. I would have rather tried this in the store, had it been readily available-- it's a definite let-down for $24.
I do not recommend this product.
Customer Review: Relief from foot problems! Summary: 5 Stars
I suffer from planter fasciitis. I had read that the best relief came from wearing a night splint. I tried one that is like a boot that uses velcro to keep you toes up during the night. It was hot and uncomfortable! The night splint is easy to wear and not hot. Mine was a bit too long for my foot and kept catching the sheet causing me to wake up. I took tin snips and cut it to fit my toes and now it is perfect! I can sleep in it with no problem. Best of all, when I wake up in the morning and put my feet on the floor...no more heel pain! This product gets a big "thumbs up."
