The fact that this product is sweetened with Xylitol, which is a sugar alcohol, could cause problems for many people, including me. Sugar alcohols can cause painful gas and adominal upset. Since Joran Rubin is very much into solving intestinal problems for people with his Primal Defense (a wonderful product) it surprised me you would use a sugar alcohol in any of his products.
Plus this is not meant to be a meal replacement shake, it is a meal supplement. I believe it says that you should take it before or in between meals to make you less hungry, so you eat less. After I drank one of these I felt just as hungry as before. I like the Garden of Life supplements, but was very disappointed in this one. It made me wonder if it was designed by the same people. I threw two big jars of this stuff out.
Also Garden of Life is proud of the product "Goatein" which is protein powder that comes from goat's milk. Here is what they say about Goatein.

But yet when they made this "Perfect Meal" they used whey protein powder instead. I think I read that Garden of Life is the only company that makes protein powder from goat's milk. So why would they use whey protein powder? Like I said before, this product doesn't sound like it was designed by Garden of Life. I like many of their other products I have tried, but not this one.
