There are more negative characteristics to this product than positive, and I'm not even considering/factoring in the undesirable taste, which many view as an important component to purchasing products they consume orally and in many instances is a deal breaker. First, I initially used this product roughly about a week and a half to two weeks ago-twice a day. It is stated on the item that each full scoop (scoop comes with the item) accounts for 24% of your daily recommended dose of fiber. I've got IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) which is a bowel disorder where your "pipes" don't work properly, and so you have to consume an appropriate amount of fiber to pass stool like everybody else. So, fiber means a lot for me. So, I took this twice a day along with Benefiber (twice a day as well) and although there were a few days where this fiber product did seem like it was doing its job and had some noticeable affect, this was generally not the case. The only reason why I gave it two stars instead of one is because of those few and rare days where I noticed some difference, but again, this was more the exception than the rule. Secondly, and like I stated earlier, I consumed fiber from this item twice a day. Now, I'm nearly out of it. Essentially, if you want to take in an adequate amount of fiber (twice a day) you're going to have to continually purchase this item because it runs out quickly-for me, again, this lasted about a week and a half to two weeks. And finally, the cost is an issue. When I purchased this only two-three weeks ago here on Amazon, the standard price was only $13.09. I figured this was a reasonable and affordable amount because if I wanted more, I'd purchase more-for only $13. Today when I checked the item to purchase more, I discovered that the standard price was listed at $19.95. Two-three weeks ago-$13.09, two-three weeks later-$19.95 (50% increase in cost). Amazon does sell it for $12.95 (not the standard price) and claims to have "free two-day shipping" with this item, but when I put it in my cart it was signified that the product would arrive sometime between two-three weeks. Anyone with IBS or any digestive disorder where fiber is crucial to maintain some form of regularity, may feel, like me, that two-three weeks is a distant time in space. Although Amazon deserves criticism for hiking up the price of this item by 50% and for offering this item at a fair price ($12.95) with "free two-day shipping" when in actuality "free two-day shipping" wasn't offered for this product, it didn't change the reality that this item wasn't effective enough for me to appreciate, and so I was left unsatisfied.
