Customer Review: A good solid amplified phone, if a bit flashy

I help people with hearing loss locate telephone equipment that meets their needs. I've used some 17 different'high-powered' (50+dB)amplified phones over the last 11 years. My major challenge is to get volume and clarity without hiss or crackle. My service area is very rural and wet. Most everywhere I go is in sight or sniff of salt water. Two things quickly degrade the quality of performance in electronic equipment: humidity and salt. They don't do much for sound quality in telephones, either. This means I'm always looking for phones that will deliver as promised. The Geemarc seems to be one of only two few that does. And while I personally find its backlit blue lighted keypad and caller ID screen hard on the eyes, my consumers love it. They can see this phone in a low light room. Now if it holds up for the full length of its one-year warranty, I'll be very very happy. Take a tip from an old pro: the plug for these phones can be plugged in right side up or upside down. If plugged in upside down, the phone's electronics will slowly fry. This appears to be true of everything electronic. My consumers have fried a few phones.

Large numbers and 11 memory dial buttons make dialing a breeze. Simply program all your important numbers into the phone for one-touch dialing. The Ampli500 phone provides maximum amplification that's customizable to fit your needs. Standard volume control offers a 30dB gain. When the "AMPLI" button is pressed, the phone provides up to 40dB amplification gain. For additional amplification, the handset boost button provides another 10dB, for a total of up to 50dB gain.
