I read the great reviews of this product and had to try it. I bought it back in July and was doing well the first few times I used it. Then for some reason, when I would twist it to use it, it would grab the nose hair, which was painful!!
I tried it one more time at another day after cleaning it and making sure nothing was stuck inside. It hurt again!
So on Sept 18, I went to the website and emailed customer service since they have a 100% money back guarantee. I stated my situation. I got an email back within an hour from John, the president of the company. He said,
"I am really sorry to hear that you are experiencing a problem using your Groom Mate nose hair trimmer. Ocassionally, the rotary blade system
will go out of alignment for any number of reasons including maybe banging up against a rigid surface and this will cause the trimmer to stop
turning smoothly. We do offer an unconditional lifetime warranty with free product replacement on all of the trimmers that we manufacture.
I would like to know if you would like to receive a brand new Platinum XL (with no charge shipping) as well as one of our new leather pouches
with cleaning brushes. If so, simply reply to this email and include your current mailing address and we will get it right out to you."
I wanted a refund but since so many people were happy with it. I emailed him back with my mailing address. That was on a Friday.
Today is Monday and I received the replacement! I was shocked by the speed! I have not tried out the replacement but I'm sure it'll be better.
Just want to give 4 stars for the product cause the first few times I used it, it worked great.
I want to give 5 stars for customer service!!!

I don't normally write reviews, but that's how good this product is.
The GroomMate is an elegant solution. Why use batteries if you don't need to? Why shove blades that spin at 500rpms up your sensitive nose? These are questions worth asking, and GroomMate not only asked but answered the questions.
First though, I should address my biggest shock when opening the package. This trimmer is smaller than a crayon. This makes it great for throwing in a travel toiletries bag.
The trimmer works effortlessly. No pain, no pulled hairs. No dead batteries! Overall, the trimmer is awesome.
I ordered directly through Groommate's website since I live outside the US. The original product got lost in a shipping or customs black hole. I don't blame Groommate for that, but their response was ridiculously slow. Apparently their only email address on their website goes through aggressive spam protection. Fortunately I caught someone in the office by phone late on a Saturday evening. The guy who answered was great, asked me to wait a few more days and then he would issue a replacement shipped for free. However, after that I went through 3 weeks of unanswered phone calls and emails. Finally, about a month later, I got a friendly email response saying they would ship me a replacement. I provided a US address and everything went smoothly. That was a great resolution to the problem, I just wish it came quicker and easier.
Overall, extremely pleased with the product and the end result. I'm planning to give a few of these away as presents this coming Christmas.

This nose hair trimmer was purchased based on some of the strong reviews and the simple fact that I was in need of a compact trimmer that I could easily take on the road with me when I travel. This trimmer works as promoted and is quite easy to use and more importantly it doesn't yank out hairs like my old Sharper Image model started doing and it seems very well made.
What I really want to comment on here is the fact that the company that makes and sells this product went out of there way to provide me with absolutely amazing customer service.
I recently purchased another item on Amazon that I sent to a relative as a gift. When I went to purchase this nose hair trimmer I didn't realize it but Amazon.com's order entry system used that gift address as my new default address and I accidentally had this purchase sent to the wrong address, not mine.
I emailed PHR Systems immediately to tell them of the error. They responded within an hour and let me know that they had already shipped out my order to the other address. Without any fuss, they asked me for my correct address and shipped out (at their expense) a replacement trimmer and, via priority mail. I had the replacement shipment in 2 days and my first shipment showed up just a day later at my friend's house.
They even went as far as to offer me the first trimmer at no charge but I insisted on paying for it and now my friend has two gifts from me!
Based on this company's customer service I would highly recommend doing business with them and their trimmer is pretty good as well. A great job all around. Thank you.

I've used a series of inexpensive battery operated trimmers, but they have not worked well. They're usually cheaply made, don't trim well, require batteries (kind of wasteful for such a simple task), and most annoyingly, tickle the inside of my nose to the point where I can't stand them. I stumbled on this while searching on Amazon for another battery-operated trimmer. Based on reviews, the one I was looking for apparently is not well liked...But a link was on the Amazon page to this one.
So this one sounded interesting, and it's made in the USA, not China.
Pros: Small, durable, easy to carry for traveling. Works well; it trimmed much more than my larger battery-operated ones. It needs no batteries, and is made in the USA. It doesn't pull hairs or tickle my nose (Finally!), and it makes no noise.
Cons: It's smaller than you think after seeing the picture above. That's good for traveling, but it makes it slightly awkward to use. If it were a bit larger you would be able to get a better grip on it. So an elderly person with arthritis in their hands would probably have a hard time using it. Also, I wish it trimmed slightly closer than it does. My nose tickles easily and makes me sneeze a lot, so I was hoping to almost eliminate the hairs, but instead it leaves a mm or two. This is more of a personal annoyance, so it likely will not bother most people.
Considering basic shipping is included, the price is reasonable, but more than most other trimmers. If it lasts a long time it will have been worth it.

This trimmer is definitely something you don't need to fear to try at home. You don't need to be a professional, just have a little common sense and at least one thumb and finger on each hand. Disclaimer. If you only have two brain cells, one for inhale and one for exhale you may want to leave this product alone.
After using a couple of battery powered trimmers and watching them quickly wear out over their short life expectancy, I looked for a simple easy to use and quality USA made product for a replacement. I had been interested in a Tweezerman device that was basically designed like a tweezer, but it was like a paper punch you inserted into your nasal opening and then 'punched out' the hairs. Sounds like fun huh? I'm glad I didn't purchase one of those. This product was discontinued after about a year and I'm guessing for good reason. It's only positive value was it didn't take up much space in a shaving kit.
