Customer Reviews of Groom Mate Platinum XL Nose & Ear Hair Trimmer

Customer Review: Great Product
Summary: 5 Stars

Alright...first off...this is the one and only nose hair trimmer I have bought. I was finally hitting that age where it looked like I had some spiders crawling out of my nose and got sick of that constant tickling feeling. Such is life. I looked and looked and decided, based on many of the past reviews to go with this one. I wanted something that would last, because lets face it, a company that makes nose hair trimmers isn't going to put a motor that lasts forever inside of the thing otherwise they would never make money. The bad reviews on this claimed that 1) it pulled hair, 2) didn't get close enough, 3) awkward to use or 4) wasn't battery powered. Well I will answer like this, 1) I have pulled one hair, but it wasn't painful and it's because I was spinning and pulling it out at the same time so it caught the hair and pulled it. Spin, then move is my advice on this. 2) It does well enough, it's not like I need to buzz cut the inside of my nose or tickle my brain. 3) It's not that hard to operate, I don't have ear hair and I could see it being harder to use there, but so long as you can see inside your nose a little bit it's not bad. 4) Quit being a lazy ####. Honestly??? Over the life of this thing you'll save a ton of money on batteries and trimmers. Like I said, any battery powered trimmer will have a bad motor put in it so that it only lasts so long before it craps out or starts ripping hairs out because it loses power. This is hand operated and should last a very long time.

Customer Review: What!? No Battery?
Summary: 5 Stars

I'll try and give a good review on my initial thoughts.

First, I have to admit when I went looking for (and ended up finding) my next nose hair trimmer the one I ended up with made me feel like I was going back in time. I mean come on, MANUAL powered? No batteries? No
charger?

How can this thing be any good?

I kept going back over the reviews, making sure that yes... this was
the ONE they were all talking about. Sure enough, it was... so I
tucked my disbelief and shrugged with a a silent 'What the heck'.

Fast forward to today.

Initial thoughts... Feels heavy, well made... packaging is mom and pop
style welcoming you in a friendly/neighborly way, the way people do
when they're going to be around for the long hall. Still had to look
for a battery compartment, no luck... only a manual turning mechanism,
lower shaft rotates the blades on top.

Who cares, get on with it... what's up?

Thing works! I intentionally left my nose alone in order to
give this a run for it's money... in no time, and what seemed like no
effort - my nose is better looking than it has been since mother
nature played this evil trick on me. The best part is, (other than it
works) is that there is no annoyance what-so-ever (well short of
having a metal object in your nose). No buzzing, no vibration, no
pulling... etc.

Very satisfied, order one!

Customer Review: Exceeds the Performance of Battery Powered Units
Summary: 5 Stars

With so many other positive reviews, mine is probably not required. But I was compelled considering the impressive performance of this trimmer.

To be honest, I ordered it without reading the description carefully and assumed it used a small battery. I liked its compact yet heavy-duty stainless appearance. I was so disappointed when I first opened the package, but that was quickly dispersed when I tried it out.

I have owned battery powered trimmers. Each was purchased after much research and comparison - only to achieve the same "ho-hum" capability.

It seemed that none trimmed close enough to suit me, as if trimmer designs were so paranoid about nicking your skin, they sacrificed the main objective of closely trimming the unwanted hairs.

This little guy amazed me. It trims closely without irritation, its operation is easy and bearing-like smooth, and it needs no battery. It is a solid, well constructed stainless steel unit made to last.

I realize it is not going an item to call all your friends about or discuss with excitement over dinner, but when a device works well in this age of exaggerated advertisement, it deserves proper acknowledgement.

One key instruction to be highlited (for those who typically skip reading them): Rotate the base back and forth to operate the trimmer, rather than in one constant direction. Other than that - prepare yourself for simplicity, quality, and satisfaction.

Customer Review: AWESOME !!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm using a word to describe this product and the reseller that my grandchildren taught me!
The Platinum XL works perfectly and better than I anticipated. It really is simplicity
at its best. I found it very easy to use after just a couple of attempts and I have yet
to experience any pulling or pinching, etc.
The fact that it includes a lifetime warranty and is actually manufactured in America won
me over but what really impressed me was the stellar customer service that I received
after the sale.
Just a quick note about Groommate's customer service: I accidently used the wrong address
(a previous gift recipient's address) to have my new trimmer sent to. I didn't notice this
until the next day after the sale and by the time I contacted this company's customer
service folks the order had already been shipped.
Without any hesitation and begging on my part, they reshipped another trimmer to my home
address and by priority mail. There was no additional cost to me and all I had to do was
to contact my friend who received the first package and have them refuse the package and
everything else was fine! An absolutely perfect transaction all around. I would highly
recommend this trimmer and a company that puts their customers first and stands behind
the products that they manufacture.

Thank you,
A. Gore - Boca Raton, FL USA
