Customer Review: to the bathroom I shall venture
Summary: 4 Stars

A scale can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. Everyone has a scale in their home, usually kept in the bathroom. Some people weigh themselves every morning, hoping for positive accurate results. If you think about it, that's not really a good idea. If you happen to get bad results you will program your brain to think the rest of your day will stink. I say do it before bedtime. That way if you're angry about the results, you'll be asleep in a few minutes anyway.

While I admit I sometimes have a habit of weighing myself often, I don't really do it because I think I'm overweight. I do it because sometimes (only sometimes) it's fun to see how much my weight varies after I swallow food or poop it out.

Many scales give you inaccurate readings, particularly some of the really old ones. I think the Health-o-Meter scales are the best ones on the market. You can weigh practically anything that isn't a pickup truck on it, and you are very likely to get the results... not necessarily the results you want, but results that are correct. With that said, any scale over the 20 dollar mark isn't worth it.

Customer Review: Back to Basics
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm 50 years old, (difficult to put that in black and white), and wanted a large dial, non electronic scale to guide me through my "mid-life, must loose weight now crises". Besides showing higher numbers than I'd like, the scale is performing quite well.
I've been using the scale for around 6 weeks now. Temperature is not a problem like the electronic scale I previously used. The only negatives I can determine is that the lines between the numbers are difficult to make out and hince, the exact weight reading is not always an exact science. (This may be because I'm trying to read it at 5 AM) Also, with any mechanical driven instrument, it must be re-zeroed often. Anyway, I highly recommend the scale to anyone who may be tired of the "Jimmy Neutron" style of doing everything in life and going back to basics that work.

Summary: 4 Stars

This scale is big. If you have a tiny bathroom don't get it. My husband likes it though. He says he now has enough room for his feet. When I first weighed myself I was about a pound lighter than on my old scale which is digital. So I thought, this is great; even one pound less makes me happy. But I happen to have a set of dumbells lying around so I weighed one. It was one pound lighter than it was supposed to be. I weighed a few of them to be sure, all one pound lighter. Oh well. The scale is consistent though. You have to be careful to put the needle right on zero every time but every single time I weigh myself I'm one pound lighter than with my old scale, which turns out to be more accurate. So we now have two scales, a his and hers.

Customer Review: Large but good quality
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a large scale that takes up a bit of floor space but it is more reliable than any digital scale I've ever had. It's very helpful to put a strip of sticky note or colored tape on the scale where you put your heels so that you are able to stand in exactly the same place every time you step on, because your position on the scale can make your weight reading vary by up to 4 pounds. I'm not looking for absolute accuracy, but consistency is important. As long as you're standing in the same spot on the scale the readings are very consistent. When you step off the scale make sure the dial goes back to zero. It's easy to adjust. I'd recommend this scale to everyone.

Customer Review: Excellent scale for those of us who are LARGE people.
Summary: 5 Stars

I weigh over 300 pounds (trying to rectify that as we speak) but finding a scale that would weigh over 300 pounds was near to impossible. This scale is excellent. It will weigh up to 400 pounds and is the simple dial kind that most of us are used to. Good metal construction with simple dial control to "zero" out the scale. It is larger than your average scale so if size is a factor, you may not want this one as it does not fit neatly into a corner. Easy to read numbers and bright red arrow shows up well to let you know exactly how much you weigh. Overall, excellent solid product and would recommend.
