Customer Reviews of Health o Meter HDM690DQ-95 Weight Tacking Scale, Black / Silver Metallic with Backlit Display (Weighs up to 380lbs)Customer Review: Awesome! Summary: 5 Stars
First off, I'd like to state that this scale is accurate down to the gram. It does exactly what a scale is supposed to do and that's tell you your weight.
I must admit, it takes some getting used to in using it, in the beginning. Beacuse it has so many features, like Weight Tracker, it's hard to know how to use it right, at first. So, i'll say this. To just measure weight -anyone's weight, at any time- you'll need to tap the center of it, first. That brings up it's "Basic" weighting mode, without all the memory tracking, and all of that. After a few seconds, it'll say a weight of 0.0 pounds. That's when you step on, and it measures your weight.
I use it everyday to keep track of my diet. It's amazing! You'd be surprised how much you learn! Like, one typical lunch with a Whopper and fries can gain you as much as six pounds! And you can lose up to four pounds after..., urr... "dropping some kids off at the pool." Yeah, really. That's how much you can lose doing that.
Seriously, though, I highly recommend this scale for anyone looking to keep track of their weight. I've already lost 15 pounds by keeping a daily measure of my weight and making sure I don't gain anything, or if I do, making sure I exercise enough to lose the excess weight. It's a five star scale and for only $30, the price is very much worth it!
I highly recommend it!
Customer Review: Health o Meter Scale Summary: 5 Stars
This scale is better than I had hoped. Power saving mode that comes on with just a tap of the foot, calibrates itself to zero then just step on for an accurate weight. Scale shuts itself off after a few seconds.
The scale can track two separate individuals, but we've not found this to be very convenient, when we are equipped with a biologic computer (brain) that does the same thing easier.
We use this to track our own weights and the weights of our three dogs. One we want to gain weight, one's too fat and dieting, and the other's just a puppy.
This scale is sensitive enough to track the puppy's weight gain progress, of course we have to hold the dogs when weighing, then weigh ourselves again without the dog and deduct the difference to get the dogs' weights, but it's fun and accurate! Different people doing the same thing, all getting the same weight for the dogs tells us this scale is spot on! (Pun intended).
The scale numbers are big and back lit in blue and are very easy to read, especially for those with failing eyesight. Overall, I am very impressed with the quality and accuracy, and the price was great too!. I highly recommend this scale for all ages.
Customer Review: Somewhat disappointing Summary: 2 Stars
Although this scale works fairly well, there are some important things to know before using or buying it, such as: The description says that batteries are included, but they're not; The manual says you can switch between lbs and kg but you can't (there is no switch like the manual says there is); The manual also says you can set up 2 user profiles and the scale will save their weights, but it won't display that; And there is a 40-lb difference when the scale is on a carpeted surface vs. a hard floor.
None of these are huge issues, but it was annoying to be surprised by so many things when I took it out of the box. I think maybe the manual doesn't match the model of the scale I was sent? The "available" menus and switches are literally not on the scale, even though the pictures in the manual clearly show them.
A couple of redeeming qualities are that the scale is fairly consistent when placed on a hard surface (+/- 2 lbs), and the display screen is very easy to read from far away. It's fine for one person to periodically check his or her weight, but don't count on the weight tracker or user profile features that are advertised.
Customer Review: a lady never tells her weight... Summary: 2 Stars
and apparently neither does this scale! I loved that I could weigh myself in pounds or kilograms, that it had a memory for more than one person BUT it wasn't accurate- not b/c I am in denial. The first day I used it, I weighed 2 lbs more than at my doctors office that same day. Fair enough. The next day I had lost a pound. The third day I gained 10 lbs apparently. HMMM. Later that day I weighed myself again to find I had gained another 5 lbs. Pretty sure I didn't gain 15lbs in a day. My son, on the other hand, averaged weighing in around 60 lbs on every scale but this one. The most he ever weighed on it was 52 lbs! I changed the batteries, etc. and same issue.
Needless to say, if you would like to have a complex about your weight, this could be a great scale for you.
Customer Review: Love it! Summary: 5 Stars
I really like this scale. It's very accurate according to my doctor's beam scale. So easy to use I have never read the instruction manual. I like the looks and large size.
Give it a tap with your foot, it turns itself on and zeros. Nice large digital readout so I don't need my glasses to read it. Does both Kg and pounds via a little switch on the bottom.
Notes very minor changes in weight and actually it's fun to see the weight you have lost overnight from the "before bedtime" weighing. I have not used the dual user and weight tracking features as yet.
The scale is very sturdy, looks good, it's low to the ground and large enough for big guys to step on without a problem. I highly recommend.
