I bought this scale because I got so tired of using digital scales where the batteries would go or something would get glitchy and the read-out wasn't accurate. I also grew tired of the old dial-type scales that you kept having to adjust to get it exactly on the zero. I thought to myself that the scales at the Dr.'s offices never seemed to be wrong or off so why not just go ahead and invest in one similar.
I am so glad I did.
The scale is easy to assemble and balance correctly, a little twist of a screw and you're set.
I couldn't be happier with it...now if I could just be happier with where I need to be personally LOL
Customer Review: Most Accurate Scale I Have Ever Used

Most scales (especially digital ones) I've used in the past can vastly different readings when used to weight myself within a 10 minute period. This scale gives the same, accurate weight every time that you step on it.
Assembly was very simple.
1) Attach the base to the upright stand with four screws at the bottom of the base
2) Attach a cable from the stand to the base
3) Attach the height rod and tighten two screws which are already mounted.
In total, it took about 10-15 minutes to un-package and build.
Would highly recommend if you are looking for an accurate scale.

Having struggled with digital scales that broke after a few years, I finally decided to get the scale my doctor has. It's terrific because I can see it clearly (the numbers are right in my face) and it is built to last forever! My daughter and I assembled it with a minimum of effort. The directions are written clearly and all adjustments are super easy to handle. It is clearly the best scale I've ever owned. The down side is that it needs a bit more space than a regular floor scale. You can, however, buy a piece of plywood and put the scale on top of the wood in a carpeted room if your bathroom can't handle the bigger size.Customer Review: I wish I actually weighed 50 lbs less!!

With all the excellent reviews, I guess I was expecting more... first, the quality wasn't there. The overall appearance was rather "flimsy". After assembly (the instructions are NOT the greatest), the scale was balanced to zero but would weigh everybody over 50 lbs less than they actually were. After calling the manufacturer and trying all the tips they could suggest, there was just no way to fix this problem. I guess I just received a lemon but I wouldn't have purchased it to begin with if I saw it "in person" before ordering. I'm heading to a medical supply store next to see EXACTLY what I'm buying next time.Customer Review: Who likes a scale anyway.....

I decided to make this purchase after digital scale after digital scale gave inconsistent readings and quit working after a few months. I wanted a scale that would be accurate everytime and be around for years. This is definitely it. It is big like the doctor's office scales, so won't go in most bathrooms (it is not pretty anyway). I rated it a 4 out of 5 because the mechanism was bound up when we got it and had to figure out why it would not work. I good pull while I was standing on it freed it up. The hole where the scale needle goes through is a little bent, but works ok. Not bad enough to send back.
