I am a big man, and have become health concerned in my later years. Keeping an eye on weight has become critical. everyday bathroom scales just don't cut it and digital scales that tell you to come back when your alone are not funny anymore. I needed a scale that was accurate and durable. The Health O Meter scale gave me just that and more. Big men and women now have an avenue to stay in touch with their weight and be able to monitor the direction they are headed. I can now tell the nurse in the doctors office how much I weigh, within a pound, of their readout.Customer Review: Extra Loose Pieces - No Help from Manufacturer

The product itself appears to be of good quality. Unfortunately, it arrived with some loose pieces, mostly from the height measuring apparatus. A call to the manufacturer to find out how to put the loose pieces back in their correct places offered no help. They could only send us the non-detailed diagrams that came in the box for assembling the scale. The instructions and diagrams tell you exactly what you need to know, if everything arrives intact. We spent a couple of hours trying to put the pieces in place and ended up securing one piece with a paper clip.Customer Review: Good scale, bad height measurement

Scale: nice, no complaints. I'm a 165 lb male and the scale platform seems very durable, steady, and of proper quality. The scale claims to be accurate to 0.25 lbs.
Height Measurement: This is where I subtract a star. The horizontal piece that rests on your head is plastic with a plastic attachment to the height measurement bar. The plastic horizontal piece has flex to it of about 0.5 to .75 inches which combined with the excess force required to move the measurement bar results in guesswork about height. I'm not happy with this feature.

I purchased this scale and when it came it had parts broken and could not be used. I returned it and tried a second one. This one came with only two straps holding the box closed. The box had previously been opened. When we put it together and tried to adjust the screw to balance it to zero, it would not worked. We could not get the balance beam to work at all. Since this was the second one we tried, we asked for a refund. Amazon was very prompt in giving us the refund, so I will definitely buy from them again, just not another scale.

We bought this instead of yet another typical bathroom scale. Let's see the kids pull the sticker off of this! This is a NICE piece of gear, assembled by my son, and accurate out of the box. I can see the difference before/after a glass of water. It's well built, and should last a lifetime. Just like the doctor's scale, so there's no more surprises going into the clinic. No wonder people's blood pressure is higher at the Dr's office. Sudden Instant Weight Gain Syndrome! SIWGS!
Buy this, you'll be glad you did.
