Very satisfied with this purchase. The only reason I did not give it a full 5 stars is because the instructions for assembly were a little confusing. The instructions referred to 4 bolts/screws to hold the upright to the base but there were only 2 with this particular model and there was some difficulty getting the armature in the upright to connect to the base. One other little annoyance is that the weight on the balance beam touches the structure of the scale so when it's at zero it doesn't have a full range of motion. This isn't really something to concern yourself with, because how often are you going to weigh something/someone less than 50lbs?Customer Review: Nice Alternative to The Bathroom Scale

It appears to be just like the one at the doctor's office, and it's not too bad of a deal putting it together, but I'm not sure if it's altogether accurate. At first, I've gotten a difference of about 4 pounds between my scale and the doctor's scale. But the second time the difference was only about 2 pounds. I don't think any scale is completely accurate, but I'm very satisfied with this one. I don't have to wear my glasses to look down at the bathroom scale, and this doesn't cost much more than a good quality bathroom scale that's not accurate anyway. I have used all kinds of scales. I could never get an accurate measurement from any until now. With every digital scale I have bought, I could never get the same reading twice in a row. I could weigh myself in the Bathroom and get one reading, take the scale to the hallway and get a different reading everytime. I love these scales, they are always right on the money. They always get the same readings as my Doctor's scales. There are just some things they should have left Analog.Customer Review: Warped

The accuracy of a balance beam scale is based on the ability to get a good measurement.
Once assembled, the balance arm slightly brushes against the indicator, which impedes free swinging. No matter how I try to manipulate the unit into compliance, it won't adjust so that the arm is free.
Cheaply built, impossible to adjust to compensate for bad manufacturing, and thus not worth the money.
Avoid.

The instructions for assembling the scale were inadequate. However, once I assembled it, I found it to be adequate. It is well made and probably accurate.
A feature not mentioned in the advertising literature is that it will weigh using either the metric system or the antiquated olde English system.
