It appears to be just like the one at the doctor's office, and it's not too bad of a deal putting it together, but I'm not sure if it's altogether accurate. At first, I've gotten a difference of about 4 pounds between my scale and the doctor's scale. But the second time the difference was only about 2 pounds. I don't think any scale is completely accurate, but I'm very satisfied with this one. I don't have to wear my glasses to look down at the bathroom scale, and this doesn't cost much more than a good quality bathroom scale that's not accurate anyway. Two thumbs up!
