Customer Reviews of Heather's Tummy Tamers-Peppermint Oil Capsules, 180ct (2 Pack)Customer Review: Not up to par Summary: 2 Stars
Peppermint pills are great. I take them, I recommend them. For a long time, I purchased only these ones (partly because of the smaller brand with products developed for IBS specifically, partly because they were the first ones I tried).
Eventually, though, I got sick of what seemed like a steady decline in the effectiveness of these capsules. No matter how I timed taking one of these prior to eating (various ways that had worked in the past), I ended up with that slight tingling feeling in my esophagus and peppermint burbs multiple days every week. I don't have problems with heartburn, I just want the capsule to dissolve where it is supposed to. I wonder if manufacturing changed at some point... So, I tried a different pill (pepogest). Works wonderfully, doesn't dissolve in my stomach, and continues to be of consistently good quality.
Customer Review: Probably the best IBS solution out there Summary: 5 Stars
These little capsules work wonders. I'd tried a few different supplements, exclusionary diets, and even a prescription antispasmodic, but these have proven to be more effective for my IBS than anything else. However, my case of IBS-D is pretty bad and on some days I have to take more than 3 in order to tame my feisty bowels. But these things really do work well and I highly recommend them!
That said, I've found that also taking a daily probiotics supplement helps too, and would recommend the same to anyone with IBS.
Also, the one downside to taking these is that sometimes (not too often) the enteric coating doesn't seem to hold up long enough and yeah... it winds up releasing the peppermint in your stomach or something cuz you wind up burping peppermint for a half hour.
Customer Review: The "feel Good Pill" Summary: 5 Stars
If you suffer from IBS, you really should try these.
They help relieve the Bloating, cramps and gas that i have suffered with for years.
the recomendation is to take these on an empty stomach, i find they work best with a very light snack, usually 2 or 3 crackers about 1/2 hour before lunch
You can find several simular items out ther, BUT not as high a quality as Heathers.
many of the other brands will disolve in the stomache instead of the intestines where it does the most good.
Heathers has a couting that delays them from disolving until they are where they can do the most good
Do yourself a favor, buy this product
Customer Review: Maybe Good for You but Check Ingredients First Summary: 3 Stars
After a ton of research, I tried these capsules because of the great reviews. They didn't work for me but I'm leaving a neutral review because I should have checked all the ingredients before purchasing. I have a lot of allergies that cause IBS and these capsules have some of those in the ingredients -- soybean (oil) and ginger. I believe these did not work for me due to that. To everyone who did not have success, you should maybe consider taking an allergy test because the culprit could be allergies rather than the capsules failing to work.
Customer Review: Works, but there are drawbacks Summary: 4 Stars
I do like these pills. I've been taking them for about a week now, and I feel great now. No abdominal cramps. My IBS is now in control. However, if you don't take it on a completely empty stomach, it can give you indigestion. Really bad indigestion. I ended up burping peppermint for hours, and it was painful heartburn. Since my stomach is hardly ever empty, I just take a pepcid along with it and it works out fine. For anyone with IBS, I would recommend this.
