Customer Reviews of Helen Of Troy Hotspa Professional Ultimate Foot Bath

Customer Review: expected it to be better
Summary: 2 Stars

I thought this product was just ok. I've never used a foot spa before and purchased this one based on the many good reviews. I really wasn't thrilled enough to keep it so I'm returning it (and I really wanted to love it). Below are my pros and cons.

Pros: Warms up right away even with cold water
water stays warm
the different control settings were cool
interchangeable base plates

Cons: big and heavy
the toe touch controls requires you to have bionic toes (I had to keep using my fingers to change the setting)
the pedicure attachments were awkward to use-- you have to keep the attachments depressed with your toe so it can keep rotating and that made for some awkward use (kind of amusing trying to do this actually)
water jets were rather wimpy

Hope this review helps someone.

Customer Review: The WORST
Summary: 1 Stars

When this piece of junk did finally arrive it not only didn't work, but it was also missing parts of it. When I contacted the seller he told me that he wanted to keep me happy so he would allow me to send it back to him at an additional cost to me of $18.97 and he would replace it. Like he was doing me a favor! By the time I get his replacement it will be almost a month from the time I placed the original order and who knows what condition the replacement will be in. One thing is for sure though, I will NEVER purchase anything else from this place and I wouldn't recommend that you do either. This "Beauty Supply For Less" gives a bad name to online shopping. And by the way, they also sell through "FASHAM BEAUTY". Not surprising that they use several different names, is it?

Customer Review: Most excellent foot spa
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading reviews on many other foot spas/baths, I decided to give this one a try for my wife on Mother's Day. I don't regret it, at all. Fully worth the money.

The heater can be a little hot for extended use, but much better to have to turn the heater off than not being able to heat water.

The little spinny tools are not completely worthless, but if you are buying this product based on that feature, you will be sorely disappointed. Fortunately, I had no expectation that the tools would be all that useful, although my wife was a bit disappointed, it was pretty short lived after soaking in hot water with the vibration running.

The only nice to have would be to have completely independent controls for heat, vibration, jets, etc.

Customer Review: Execllent Product
Summary: 5 Stars

This was a Christmas gift for my wife who had hinted strongly that a foot bath/massager would please her -- and she is very pleased! The best aspects are that it maintains heat very well, the bubbling massage is strong and soothing, and it will allow her to use bath salts and other soothing products. The controls are easy to use and the cord is long enough to allow for easy placement. True, it is heavy when filled but you have to expect that with a quality product. I looked at cheaper models but the quality and the ability of this model to use bath salts drove the decision. The pedi attachments work well and are easily stored in the bath. It is easy to drain and clean after use which is important. My wife is thrilled and thus so am I. Highly recommended!

Customer Review: Works, but won't stop heating
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this item for my wife in 2005, and I got my money's worth many, many times over by now. The air stopped on one side and I was able to repair it myself. Just a bit of cleaning took care of it, but I had to get a special screwdriver to open it up.

Her only complaint is that it doesn't stop heating the water unless everything is turned off. It'll heat cold water with no problem, but after a while, the water is actually too hot for her to keep the pumps on. This is pretty silly. Seems as though you should be able to turn off the heat once the temperature is at the desired level.

Overall, this product has performed well and is still going strong. But next time, I'll find one that lets her control the heat.
