I bought my Himalayan Crystal Salt Lamp at our local Krogers (grocery store)over a year ago, so I had the advantage of looking at each one they had before choosing mine.
Nothing was broken and the bulb fit.
I don't know about any healing properties, but I love how it looks and it is on 24/7 in a corner of an entry hall.
It does make a great night light.
I've replaced the bulb only once so far.
