Customer Reviews of Himalayan Institute Ceramic Neti PotCustomer Review: Don't expect miracles Summary: 3 Stars
To be fair, this product is attractive, and it worked well 9formed a proper seal and poured smoothly). The ceramic certainly seems better quality than a plastic one.
The reason I didn't give it more stars is that it didn't work for me. I just wanted to warn people that neti pots aren't for everyone. I love the idea of a neti pot because I hate putting any more chemicals into my body than I already do in everyday life. I have seasonal allergies and expected that no harm could come from a simple nasal irrigation, which has been done for centuries.
I used this pot for a few weeks last year, and then for a few days this year. Both times I was hoping to alleviate sinus headaches that come with my seasonal allergies. And both times I ended up giving myself a horrible cold that resulted in even more sinus headaches. This might have just been my experience, but I've since gotten rid of the neti pot and resorted to sudafed.
Customer Review: Did not receive the Item advertised. Bad Customer Service! Summary: 1 Stars
I ordered the Ceramic pot and instead received a very cheap plastic version. When I called their customer support, they acknowledged the mistake and said that I could return the ones received and they would send the correct ones. At this point it had already been a week later since they were ordered and I was not gonna wait a week to receive the Return envelope, wait a week for them to receive it, and another week for them to send the correct Item. So I told the guy that I would keep the cheap ones and I demanded some sort satisfaction. Also, keep in mind, after these were on Oprah's show the price went up 3 dollars and the guy kept insisting that I would have to pay the difference since the price went up. Long story short, he said he would send me some gifts for my trouble...3 weeks later, I still have yet to receive anything. I'm Still waiting...Overall, SAVE your money, blow your nose! Because you really do not need this product.
Customer Review: Neti Pot might be good Summary: 3 Stars
A friend recommended the Neti Pot to me as a good way to improve any sinus distress due to pollen, dust or whatever causes problems from time to time. After searching the net I decided to get mine from Amazon because their price was competitive and their service has always been good for me.
Since receiving it I have tried it 3 or 4 times. The first time I was left with a bit of residual water in my sinuses that didn't feel comfortable. How you hold your head must determine how well this thing works because after a couple more tries that problem was less noticeable.
My conclusion is that it did seem to clear everything out nicely and the free breathing felt good but this thing is no miracle device. I expect to use it again when I think I need it but do not intend to make a daily habit of it as some folks seem to believe necessary.
Customer Review: Wonderful when not too clogged Summary: 3 Stars
First I have to say that this really works when you're a little bit congested, so it's definitely useful. The problem is that it just doesn't work that well if you're really congested... the liquid just gets stuck and nothing goes through except a drop from time to time. The only thing that worked is when I used it after spending 20 minutes in the bathroom with hot water running... then I was finally able to clear up my nose (mostly) for a little while. Honestly I've had more luck with the squeeze bottle when my nose is clogged, but the neti pot is still more comfortable overall so I recommend having both. I'm just giving it 3 stars because it's not all that I expected it to be, as I still got my nose clogged after using it twice a day for a week.
Customer Review: Little Neti Pot Really Works! Summary: 5 Stars
It seems a little intimidating at first, but it is really no big deal. You just have to remember to leave your mouth open (to breathe)when you pour the warm salt water through your nostril(s). Make sure it's NOT too HOT, or you will quickly regret it! This isn't anything I would ever look forward to doing, as it does feel like getting water up your nose (like when you're in the pool), but overall, it is a nice alternative when you're feeling a cold coming on. I'm not plagued with ongoing allergies, so I'm not one who would use this every day, but I purchased one for my father, who is. Once he gets over the initial, "ewww",I hope he will use it. It beats blowing your nose every few minutes, or getting knocked out from Benadryl.
