Customer Review: Doing Neti is "acquired" skill, but this pot helps a long way..

Not a lot of people are crazy about doing Neti, specially after they try it once! Very natural to feel "gross".. :-)
But if you can do it right (hopefully you learn this under watchful eye of Yoga instructor) & stick to doing this regularly, benefits far outweigh the so called "trauma" of the process. You can do your own research on benefits of Neti..
This Pot helps a long way to do it right, of course it is up to you to make sure you follow the right steps, use clean sanitized water & use proper salt etc.
Pot is well designed ,has a correct footprint, easy to clean, easy to hold(just don't drop it, it will break). As usual you can't beat Amazon price.

Every household SHOULD have this neti pot. It's a bit overpriced but you're happy you're contributing to the Himalayan Institute's compassionate causes in Africa and India.
The brochure says (1) you should use pure salt, (2) you should stir it into 8 oz of warm water, and (3) you may want to do three exercises to expel any water remaining in your nose. Well, (1) I use sea salt bought at Whole Foods; (2) the pot only holds 4 oz and you should use lukewarm water, not warm water; (3) the three exercises are unnecessary.
I can't help but rub it sometimes because it reminds me of Aladdin's Magic Lamp...I may get three wishes...who knows? :D

Get the Ancient Secrets neti pot.. its much more functional than this one. This one it seems like a trick to find the right position for your head to get the water to come through the easiest... and by the time I'm done my neck and lower back hurt from having to be turned so far. And you can't tip the neti pot more to increase the flow pressure or you'll pour water all over yourself because it comes out the top. The Ancient Secrets pot has a better angle on the spout and an extra lip covering half the top. You'll get a better flow with that one too.
I think the neti pot is one of the greatest inventions... I use mine every day... but I dont care for this particular style.

I have no issues with this product. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The spout forms a tight seal in my nose (and I am a large man). Also the pot, being cermanic, has a heavier feel to it which gives me better control during use.
However, I did expect more relief for my perpetual congestion. It does help, although for not as long and as much as I hoped (based on other customers' praising). Medicinal purposes aside, I was surprized to find using the neti pot a rather meditative and relaxing experience.
A final note, based on my experience, I am planning to purchase this product as a Christmas gift for each of my co-workers.

Himalayan Institute Original Neti Pot, Ceramic and Nasaline Salt 10.50 Ounces
This is a great product that helps us (ordered a pot for my husband and myself) breathe easier. We use the Nasaline salt in it, which we ordered at the same time from Amazon. The stuff that came out of my husband's nose was unbelievable! The service was so fast that we were shocked! This is such a pretty little pot that it's a nice decoration for the bathroom counter.
