Customer Reviews of HoMedics Ortho Therapy Leg Spacer Support Pillow with Velour Cover

Customer Review: I feel better now!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had hip pain on my right side for a couple of years. (Essentially an old back injury causing the muscles to tighten right around the hip joint) It's caused me problems with everything...sleeping, walking, standing, sitting, you name the activity, it hurt and often made me miserable. I found putting a pillow between my knees helped decrease the pain, but it wasn't enough and was tough to keep in place when turning in my sleep. So, I decided to try this knee pillow and after using it for the past month I feel so much better! The muscles have relaxed and the pain is nearly all gone. I noticed a good difference within a couple of weeks. After a month, I'm feeling well enough to be more active again. I really does a great job keeping the spine and hips better aligned while you sleep. The hourglass shape also makes it pretty natural for your legs to grab as you turn from side to side. I've only kicked it out of bed twice so far. The regular old pillow was kicked out far more often. I could wish for it to stay a little stiffer through the night. Your body heat softens it quite a bit, but it still does the job. It may not work for everyone, but it's been great for me and I would highly recommend giving it a try!

Customer Review: Worse...Purchase...Ever
Summary: 1 Stars

If I could choose "no stars" on this review, I would. I made the mistake of buying two of these. My advice, pass on these. I've had a back problem for over 18 years and just always slept with a regular bed pillow between my legs, waking up in the middle of the night to find the thing somewhere else but not where I left it when I fell asleep. So, the ergonomic design and the idea that I can turn in-bed without losing my pillow was very appealing. I bought two because I spend part of my time at my place and part at my partner's place. The pillows compress too much to be of any use. The compression is such that it's like not even having anything there. I don't know why Amazon would carry a product like this except that they get suckers like me to purchase them. I went back to my regular pillow and the only pain that the HoMedics Ortho Therapy Leg Spacer Support Pillow with Velour Cover causes or caused, was to my wallet. Pass, pass, pass...I promise you...pass on this one.

Customer Review: Just right...
Summary: 5 Stars

I have spondylolisthesis and degenerative osteoarthritis in my spine, as well as severe OA in most all of my joints. Lately, I've had severe pain in my right hip, that prevented me from sleeping at night, even after cortisone injections. I simply could not find a pain-free position until I tried a pillow between my knees. Using a bulky throw pillow simply didn't cut it, though. I had used one of these leg support pillows years ago, and decided to buy this particular pillow after researching, and reading lots of reviews.

I have had it about a week now, and it has been a blessing. It is just the right size, and stays in place all night. I fall asleep with no pain, becasuse my hip and knee are more properly aligned, relieving the stress on the joints. I could not have gotten a better product for the price, either.

Anyone suffering with this type of pain would welcome having this great little pillow.

Customer Review: Comparing HoMedics and Contour
Summary: 4 Stars

My hubby and I have been using leg pillows for a while and needed new ones. We bought one of these and one of the Contour Memory Foam leg pillows, so here's my two cents comparing the two. This is the one he uses -- he's 5'9" and has some back problems, and while he initially found this pillow big and stiff, he's adjusted and likes it now. I've tried this one once and it was FAR too wide/stiff for me (I'm 5'7" and average build). I'm quite certain that it will last longer than the Contour, though - while I like the Contour, after only a few weeks of use it is already noticably flatter than when I first got it, so in another year or so I'll need a new one. This one seems just as plump as when we got it, though a tad looser now.

Hope the comparison is helpful!

Customer Review: Helps with morning back pain
Summary: 4 Stars

I suffer from degenerative disc disease and wake up every morning with excruciating back pain. After finally breaking down and buying various devices to help me sleep better, I have to say that this one is a keeper. I've used pillows in the past to place between my knees. This is a good substitute which is more suited for its purpose. Pillows are too big, especially when you need to re-adjust during the night. I can find this easily at night and place it where it should be. It is very soft, and has just enough "give" so works even as the hours of sleep go by. It may not be suited for heavier people, but I am small so it works just fine for me.
