I purchased three different lumbar support products listed on Amazon.com, but this is the only one I would even consider utlizing as the other two, while they may support the back satisfactorily, were most uncomfortable.
This one is soft and cushiony, yet gives just the right support that my back needs to spend hours daily posed in front of a computer screen while I study website design. It is even pleasant in appearance. I do not use a standardized office chair as my blind kitty cat likes to curl up beside me to assist me at my studies. I do not want her to be banished from this pleasure by acquiring a chair on which there is no room for her.
The velour pillow cover does get a bit soiled after a time, but it can be machine washed on gentle cycle and tumble dried on low heat. I have been using the support pillow for circa six months and I haven't yet found that necessary.
There is an elastic band several inches wide on the back of the support pillow to be placed around the back of a chair. So there is no chance of the pillow falling to the floor while the user is sitting down or rising from the chair. It may slip down a little if one has it positioned high, but it is easy to move it back up to where it is desired.
So I am very happy to have found this support pillow. It has solved my back discomfort problem and that is what I wanted.

Although I'm only 25, I've been suffering from back pain since I started my desk job 3 years ago. This little pillow has made such a huge difference. I wish I would have purchased it sooner. It's the first product of this type that I've tried, but it definitely works for me. I'm 5'7", 125 pounds and I sit in a big office chair (intended for someone much bigger than me) at a computer all day. When using the pillow, it pushes my lower back forward just enough to allow me to easily maintain good posture, thus reducing the stress on my upper back, shoulders, and neck. I can't believe that something so inexpensive could have such an extreme effect. I'm going to buy another to use in my home office as well as for long car trips.
As for negatives, the strap isn't big enough to fit around a large office chair and I don't think it would easily fit around most car seats, but it does fit around my small office chair. It isn't a problem to use the pillow without the strap though. I would imagine that this pillow might be a little small for some people, since I'm a thin woman and there is only about a inch of spare pillow on either side of my back.

Thought at this price I would give it a shot, and it is actually making a big difference. I have it on my chair at work and I lucked out - it fits perfectly. It's just the right firmness, and it hits my back at just the right spot. Occasionally I have to reposition it - but I'd rather fiddle with a cushion for 10 seconds than deal with back pain all day long! It has completely eliminated my lower back pain.
The cushion lets you sink in slightly, but gives excellent support, like a good pillowtop mattress. And unlike a lot of other memory foam products it doesn't get crushed quickly. I've used mine 5 days a week for 7 months now and the foam is just like it was brand new. The only thing that shows any wear is the strap, from being stretched for so long, and it looks like that will last at least a year before giving in.
If your chair is more than 17" wide, the strap won't fit, and if you're over 200 lbs, it won't be wide enough for your back. But if you're lucky enough to be average sized and have an average task chair, it's worth every penny!

I brought two Ortho Therapy Lumbar cushions for my car. My Father is 84 years old and I drive him and my mother around a lot and we sometimes take long trips. My father has a bad back and usually after just a hour or so in my car his back is really soar. I brought the cushions which both my parents use on our trips even the ones just to the store. My father can now ride in the car with ease. He told me there is a real difference and he really liked the cushion that it did help a lot. He use to be so sore that when he got out of the car he had a hard time standing, now he seem to get out with ease. We have found the cushions to work very well. We like that the cover can come off to be washed when needed. We will be using them for a long time. I think they are better then the smaller roll lumbar cushions, they support your whole lower back and are very comfy. I would recommend them for anyone who has lower back discomfort.Customer Review: good support but not quite comfortable

I'm 5'5, 170lbs, and using this cushion seems a bit firmer than I'd like. I've only been using it for an hour so far, so haven't test it all out yet, but compared to a mesh version of a similar product, I say the other one is actually better.
What I dont like about this cushion is that the strap is too small/tight. Within a couple minutes of putting it on my computer chair and taking it off I can see that the elastic is warped and stretched out. Also because I dont put too much pressure on my back, this cushion seems to force my back forward (which i guess is what you should do), but it is uncomfortable. I'm constantly readjusting in my chair, trying to find a comfortable position with this cushion.
The pro for this product is that it really seem to make you sit properly. therefore I'll keep using it until its too uncomfortable. I'm thinking of keep it in my car for long trips.
