Customer Reviews of HoMedics PA-100 Therapist Select Percussion Massager, Variable SpeedCustomer Review: HoMedics Massager Summary: 3 Stars
This massager is pretty good overall. The variable speeds are great, although you have to work up to the high speed. It can be a bit strong if you start out with it. The massager is heavy, though, so your arm and hands may get tired after a few minutes. A great thing about this is that you can change how far apart the massaging nodules are, depending on how you like it or what area of your body you are massaging. Note: The instructions say that it should not be used for more than 15 minutes at a time. This massager could stand to be a little lighter, but I think it is worth the price.
Customer Review: very good for its price Summary: 3 Stars
My dad has a massager from Brookstone (called the Max I think) with a similar design but the heads travel in and out farther giving a more energetic massage. His cost $200. The Homedics one feels somewhere between a true percussion massage and a vibration massage.
The true test came after I went on a 7 hour hike. My calves were very sore. I did a 5 minute massage on them and next morning felt great. My quads, which weren't as sore and which weren't massaged, were still sore the next day. So I think this massager does what its supposed to do and isn't just a gimmick.
Customer Review: I love this massager Summary: 5 Stars
I brought this massager thinking that there was no way it was going to help the pain I was having in my neck and shoulder. I could barely move and after I used this I could actually turn my neck from side to side. I used the heating element and it felt great. I didn't think it was too heavy at all; especially once you are using it. Since I am a mother of 2 I don't really have time to go to a massage therapist when I have a crick in my neck, this device makes for a great alternative. If you don't pull your hair up it can get caught up in the massager. I'm happy I tried it.
Customer Review: Heavy Percussion Summary: 4 Stars
I like this instrument for my use as a reflexologist. I have a more expensive semi stationary unit at my office, but the above product serves well for my home and when I travel to the homes of my client. The controls are easy to use and the movement is very good for stimulating reflex points. Clients enjoy it and are very relaxed when I finish a session. The only complaint I have is the bulkiness of the head and the weight involved. If I had to use it for a length of time my wrist and arm would be tired. It is also good for home use by anyone for tired tight muscles.
Customer Review: A massage at home instead of one at the Spa Summary: 4 Stars
I love to have a massager at home to relieve any pain (or cramp) at any given moment. That's why I bought the HoMedics PA-100. I love it, and as a matter of fact, I bought a second one for my daughter. My only problem is that it's a little too big and heavy for me to use it on myself. My arms really get tired if I use it for too long on my back. My daughter instead, has her husband to help her with, and she tells me she feels in heavens every time she uses it. So, go for it! It beats the price you pay for just one professional massage at the Spa.
