Customer Reviews of HoMedics PA-400H Therapist Select Percussion Massager with HeatCustomer Review: Energetic Summary: 4 Stars
I use this product everyday while laying down. I can reach all parts of my body one side at a time. Massager is a bit heavy, which is good for deep tissue work. Very stimulating and energizing. Instructions say to only use for 15 minutes at a time (because motor tends to overheat), but it ususally takes me 30 to 40 to do a complete massage, so I have to turn it off a couple of times to finish. That is a bit of a drag. Also have had problems with the cord with HoMedics products before. After a while cord tends to short circuit at the point where it enters the machine, causing the machine to go into a kind of on/off... on/off mode. After a while you just give up and go get a new one. The machine itself is robust and healthy except for this one design flaw.
Customer Review: Good Massager Summary: 4 Stars
I think this is an excellent massager. I love having different settings to choose from as well as the massage heads. I found the accupressure massage head to work the best for me. I was disappointed in the heat massage heads, they really didn't heat very well or provide me any relief. I can't remember exactly when I bought it, but I use it almost everyday. Mine just recently broke, it keeps shutting off after I start it. The only other downfall is the massager is quite heavy. For me it was a problem since I don't have anyone that could use it to massage me; I have to do it myself. I also like the feature that you can adjust the handle to make it easier to reach your back/neck area. It was definitely worth the price. I definitely got my money's worth.
Customer Review: Terrible! Summary: 1 Stars
I am on my 3rd one now and I am getting very upset! The first one lasted about 6 months to a year, the 2nd one about the same time, and now this 3rd one that I got lasted barely 3 months! What is going on is, the cord gets raveled from time to time, and as it does it creates a short in the product, and it does NOT go on anymore. This is totally unacceptable. You would think the 6 figure rocket scientists would figure out to put an unraveling type phone cord at the edge of the handle or something so this cord doesnt ravel up and have shorts.
this product for this reason is a waste to buy. DO NOT BUY IT!
I have gone through 3 this time. And this time I am getting a refund or a replacement product. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!
Customer Review: Best for big people who need STRONG massage Summary: 2 Stars
I loved what I read about this massager in the reviews, but now I know everyone must be much bigger and sturdier than me. For one thing, this massager is HUGE. Also this massager can't be set at a lower speed or power, and the default setting is too strong for me. My main problem is my neck, and if I put this thing near or on my neck it vibrates my skull so much it seems dangerous. Literally makes my teeth clatter. It's also disturbing to put it near the spine it's so strong. I regret I tossed the box, because otherwise I would have returned it for refund after 5 seconds of use. This item should have been designed for a broader range of users, not just people with thick tough muscles.
Customer Review: This is great Summary: 5 Stars
I'm by no means a percussion massage instrument expert, but this is great in my book. I'm a big guy and this really feels good when I use it on my neck and shoulders. It's not too heavy -- at least, it's not any heavier than what something that gets through several layers of skin, fascia, and muscle needs to be -- and it comes with a handy case-bag.
People on here complain that it is too heavy. To them I say that it is substantially lighter than carrying around a massage-therapist. People also say that the heat is not useful. I mean, come on -- what did you expect? It gets warm enough to feel the heat. No, it's not a hot tub, but it's solid.
