Beautiful scale that only lasted a couple of months. I would not recommend it at all. It would also get dirty very easily and hard to clean underneath. I'm so tired of homedics all together. Customer Review: It is an excellant scale.

I bought this scale to replace a 40 year old bathroom scale that worked great for 39 years and 364 days. This new scale was great out of the package, but died after approximately 6 weeks. Specifically, the glass area that you step on (and looks so fashionable and sleek) separated from the base parts, which contain the electronics which make the scale work. I was left with a non-working scale in 3 pieces.
I notified Amazon's great customer service department and they immediately replaced the product even though it was beyond the normal 30 day return policy -- thank you Amazon! I've used the replacement item for almost 2 weeks now and it works fine, though I am holding my breathe over what the future holds for this scale. I never expected to get 40 years use out of it like my previous scale, though I'm hoping for at least 5 years. Since the first one died after 6 weeks, only time will tell.
So if you are looking for a scale, my advice is to keep looking. I know there have been some good review of this product (and that is why I originally bought it), but my luck with this scale was pretty bad.

Accurate, attractive, and relatively inexpensive.
I don't know whether the absolute weight it reports is exact, but it seems very close. Just as important, the weights are consistent: if I weigh myself, wait a minute or two, then weigh myself again, the scale reports the same weight. Another plus: the scale does not seem overly sensitive to where I stand on it.

This scale is exactly what I was looking for, simple, sleek and accurate. It replaced a homelier body mass scale that was mainly used for weight anyway. Very nice.
