I love the way the "thumbs" can move inward or outward! This is GREAT on the shoulder blades, an area where a lot of tension builds up. I have also placed it on my chair and used it on my low back as I sit and work on the computer. How perfect! You can change the location of where you put it. I have used it on the back of my thighs, all over my back. You can use it in any direction you want, vertically, horizontally, in a diagonal. That is why I like this so much because you are not limited in how you use it.
I love massages-especially shiatsu massages where pressure points are worked out- and get a lot of them but that can get expensive. This little machine packs a lot of punch and does a REALLY good job. I love it sooo much I even took it on vacation with me (it felt good to use it after lugging around my heavy luggage! ) It is light and compact and is the best mechanical massager I have ever used! It doesn't just vibrate, it's "thumbs" actually can reach pressure points. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM! You really won't be sorry!
I have read reviews about it not fitting the neck, etc. I'm really not sure what that is all about. You may not get a great massage if you just stick your neck in between the thumbs. But who really needs a massage on the sides of the neck? The muscles are in the upper back just below the neck-which is why I have never used the little inflatable pillow that comes with it because that implies the massager can only be used in one way or placed one place. USE IT WHERE YOU NEED IT! If you have a "knot" in a particular area, put the massager there and it WILL WORK IT OUT. Just place place the massager on your back in that area you have a knot (uppper back, shoulder blades, mid back, low back) and then sit back against your chair, couch, wall, whatever, to keep the massager in place. You will REALLY FEEL THE THUMBS WORKING! Just as soon as you feel loosened up, then switch the direction of the thumbs, very easy with the flick of a switch-I just reach behind me and flick the switch that is on one of the handles-so there is no moving around, break in momentum, etc.
I really can not say enough about this item and believe that EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE ONE!
