Customer Review: Looks aren't everything...

I like the look of this clock, the projection, and the outside temp has worked well for me, but that is as far as it goes. It is flimsy, the nature sounds are tinny, and the screen is far too bright, even on the low setting. If you want to press a button you have to hold the unit with the other hand...otherwise your attempt to push a button ends up just pushing the whole unit around on the nightstand. The Alarm 2 will not set. AM Radio station displays random numbers, even when you have a station set spot-on, and as long as it keeps changing those random numbers, the time will not display. For instance, I have it tuned to AM 780, and the display changes numbers from the 900's through the 1100's, changing the number every half second or so. Using the Snooze/Nap button to quick-display the projection also sets the Nap - what a rude awakening that was in the middle of the night! The alarm beep plays at the volume you last had set for the radio/nature sounds, so don't go to bed with the radio playing softly or you'll never hear the alarm go off. My wife bought one of these and when we got it set up I was glad she got it. At first I thought 'To much for a clock' but after seeing what it does I changed my mind. This thing is not just a clock but the sounds help also. Being a disabled Vet I'm in bed a lot and with this clock/sound/radio combo. I can tell what the weather out-side is and the sound of the 'Rain Forest' helps me sleep, the sound is so good I have to remember that we don't have a bird to feed. When she brought it home and I listened to the different sounds I picked the 'Rain Forest' and it is on All day and Night every day and night, we haven't turned it off since we've gotten it. It is so nice we looked all over town and not one store had one,and so I checked Amazon and found it so I got 1 for my Daughter and Son-n-Law and will give it to them for Christmas. They live in Washington State and I'm sure they will enjoy the sound of the Rain Forest also,and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to listen to the Rain but they will enjoy the sound of the birds. Received as a gift for Christmas, set it up the week following Christmas. 3 Days later, the outdoor temperature goes blank, change the batteries?? already?? - 3 days later - same thing... and to change the batteries in the outdoor temp receiver - 4 teeny tiny screws (my unit immediately down to 3 when I lost one). After 3 battery changes, I wrote Homedic and asked for advice. A week (or more) later I get a form letter telling me they are "behind" in answering customer emails. A week and half later, outdoor temperature (which actually worked for almost a full week this time) is out again and still no response from the company. And as another consumer noted, the radio is practically useless, it is more than difficult to tune to a station. As soon as I find a replacement (which I am finding many choices that are the same price or cheaper for better brand names) this unit is in the garbage. What a waste.Customer Review: THE SENTENTIAL

I Purchased this item locally and brought it home last night.. the set up was fairly easy.The projector was blue lite and set up on the ceiling fine. The clock LEDs were really bright even on the lowest settings. The LEDs are large and white emitting bright lites. you can't turn off the clock background. The remote outside sensor looses the signal to the clock face and it came back on this morning all by its self? The ss5010 has a time zone setback automatically. You have to set the radio with a thumb wheel no markings on the wheel either! The radio led read outs just randomly runs numbers and never setting on the stations or going back to the clock setting.. you can't tell the time when the radio is on the radio setting.. maybe mine is a fluke? You can turn down the volume to the radio to nothing.This unit is going back to the store in a few days.Customer Review: Premier clock radio

I purchased this clock and loved the sleek design.
However when I tried to use it, I couldn't pick it up without pushing a button somewhere.
I got the thing set and loved all the things it is supposed to do.
However, all the buttons locked up on me and then I couldn't change any of the settings or get anything to work on it (sounds, radio, etc.)
I also did not like the fact that the dim on the clock hardly reduced the brightness of the clock, I had to put a pillow in front of it.
Great concept, but needs some tweeking....and should work!
I had to return my clock and tried to get it replace but there were none left at two stores. I hope others do not have trouble with theirs.
