I bought 2 of these fountains, 1 for home and 1 for my office. 1 sounded like a jet engine taking off. I could not even hear the water running. The second one was very quiet...because it would not pump any water at all. I had purchased one of these 5 years ago and it was very quiet and lasted a very long time.
I guess they are not making them as well anymore.
Do not recommend.

Wow. I am extremely happy with my new fountain! I have it on most of the time I am home. As previous reviews stated, the motor only gets loud when it needs more water. Word of caution: add little amounts slowly. When you turn off the fountain, it can over flow out of the pot. The sound of the water is exactly what I wanted for the relaxed ambiance of my living room. Great value as well!Customer Review: Perfect

This is the perfect fountain. I've tried many, many others and none have even come close. Everyone who sees it is amazed, and afraid to touch it because they're afraid they'll get burnt. The lights make it look so real, and the noise that comes from the water flow is just perfect, and so relaxing. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone and everyone. We've used these fountains for years. Our cats love running water and this drink out of this fountain and play in the water. We've had several over the years. I turn them off at night and attempt to keep them clean (they aren't easy to clean) and have had good luck with them.
Guiests are always amazed to see the cats drink from the burning candle.

I bought two of these fountains, and the lights stopped working after three months on the first one, the lights on the second one lasted slightly longer. The fountain itself still works on both, and for the price it wasn't that much of a loss. But it was disappointing. If the sound is more important than the looks, this is a decent, affordable fountain.
