I initially wanted a heated cushion but when I saw that I could get both the heater and the massager very inexpensively, I bought this product. The massager is what you could expect: 10 motors (2 for the seat, 4 for the lower back, 2 for the middle and 2 for the upper back) controlled with four individual "Off-Low-High" switches. However, the heat is only available in the lower-back portion (I wish they said that before I bought it). And that brings me to the page 4 from the manual: "...please allow 5-10 minutes for heat to reach maximum temperature". From the same page: "DO NOT use this product for more than 15 minutes at a time. Extensive use could lead to the product excessive heating and shorter life... ". In other words, you have to wait for 5-10 minutes for the product to heat and then you can use it at most another 5-10 minutes. Make sure you read the one-star review: "We plugged it in, and it worked fine for about twenty minutes. Then it stopped working, and the motor started overheating. There was a strong burnt odor well after we turned it off."Customer Review: Does what it says

For the price it is a good buy. The heat only works when you have the vibration on which I wish it was optional. It is a little noisy for my taste, but feels good and relaxing. It is the lower end of the models and works okay despite the noise. We purchased it to put in our truck while driving because my husband has a bad lower back. The heat is centralized in the middle of the back. (so far it is still in the house being used while watching tv). I considered the Shiatzu product by the same manufacturer, but so many reviews complained about defective Shiatzu cushions that I decided on this model instead. We plugged it in, and it worked fine for about twenty minutes. Then it stopped working, and the motor started overheating. There was a strong burnt odor well after we turned it off. Because of similar negative reviews of other Homedics products, we will be returning this for a refund, not a replacement. Too bad. We were really looking forward to using this, and we would have loved to keep it if only it had worked, but I'm not going to take chances on a product that has the potential to burn down the house.
