The chord was very short and would not reach across the bed or the couch - very inconvenient. I also didn't find this massager to be powerful enough for me. I had a Homedics massager that I loved and it lasted more than 6 - 7 years. When it broke, I purchased this one. Maybe I was spoiled with the other one which had more power settings (I needed a stronger setting to get out the knots in my shoulders), a variety of massage options and the distance between the massage balls was adjustable (a nice option when massaging different areas of the body). This one just didn't compare.
If you need a basic lightweight massager that is affordable and don't mind a shorter chord, this one may work for you.

As a slim woman, I find this heavy, awkward and hard on the bones. That being said, it also immediately eliminated a tight shoulder that has been nagging me for a few days, requiring periodic doses of NSAIDs. Unless someone has a better, comparably priced, massager out there, I'd rather struggle with this periodically than take drugs or pay for massages.
While it won't help with the heavy and awkward, perhaps the solution for someone thin is to use it while wearing a thick fleece or light insulated jacket - in essence, giving your poor ole bones some padding.
I can't imagine who could use this on high on their back unless they were VERY well padded!

You can even do your whole body massage by yourself by lying on one side in bed and allowing the weight of the massager to do most of the work. Then go to leaning on the massager as you guide it up your back to your neck. That done, change sides and complete the job, or let a friend help. It's really quite fantastic! When we finish the massage there is a rush of calm and comfort that is amazing. I've never found a better unit. One small caveat: if you press to abruptly on bare skin like around the back of the neck the skin can get pinched. Wear clothes or cover with a towel to preven this. Enjoy!Customer Review: Oh my back

It does what it is... it is a massager. some people have complained about the weight and here I am thinking the head could be heavier. why? well using this thing on your self can be difficult and the ability to add pressure to the massager while you are doing parts of your neck and shoulders without using two hands can be difficult. Do be careful when this thing hits bone. it just bounces off and makes this horrid noise. its not painful just unsettling if you are not used to it. Being slim I tend to impact my shoulder blades when I am using both hands and trying to apply more pressure.Customer Review: A good sort of pain

I have used other massagers from this brand, so I was nervous to switch to yet another new version. Fortunately, this unit made improvements over my prior massagers. The percussion massagers glide smoothly, the speed adjustment is useful, and unit has good heft. In fact, it could be a little too heavy for some users. The foam grip handle, while useful, also appears likely to be the first point to wear out on the unit.
Overall, the unit does a nice job of working through the soreness in my back. So, this inexpensive unit earns a five star rating.
