Customer Reviews of Homedics QRM-400H Therapist Select Quad-Roller Massaging Cushion with HeatCustomer Review: Great massage chair! Summary: 5 Stars
I suffer from tension headaches because of very tight back muscles. I also suffer from sciatica from lower back muscle issues. I see a massage therapist once a month for an hour an my chiropractor afterwards. The time between visits can be painful.... This chair is so great to fill in the void between visits. The quad rolling is awesome. It really stretches out those tight muscles and knots. I follow with the shiatsu which is great. I love the feature where you can choose "spot" treatment it keeps the rollers on that perfect spot to work out knots and you can move it up and down as you need to. The heat is wonderful to help relax the muscles, too. The "width" feature on the rollers is great because every's back is different and your knots don't develop in the same place, so it's great to fully work my back.
I got this delivered to my office and all the girls want one for the office. When I feel a headache coming on, I use this chair for 10 minutes and I am relaxed and the headache goes away--without meds!
The only con: it does not go high enough on your back so you have to do the lower portion, and then I re-adjust the mat so that it gets the upper shoulders and if I get it just right, a little of my neck, too.
I would highly recommend this unit!

. . . but I expected a little more.
Last Christmas, I purchased an earlier "version" of a Homedics Massage Cushion, much to the delight of my wife. When offered the opportunity, through Amazon Vine, to try a later, upgraded model, I jumped at the chance.
Please don't get me wrong -- I have already enjoyed this product very much, as have other members of my family. We really like the "heat" option. I really liked the shiatsu massage option, though my wife preferred the rolling massage much more. And I like the adjustment feature which recognizes that human backs come in different sizes!
This being said, despite the extra cushioning, one can really feel extra mechanical equipment. I thought that it would be more comfortable than it has proven to be. The blue light which shines through the machinery whenever the unit is turned on was also a bit annoying.
Overall, I'm very pleased -- but if the reader has an earlier version of this cushion, don't feel the need to rush right out and buy this upgrade.
Customer Review: Almost perfect Summary: 4 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
When you first open it up,for those of you sensitive to odors, it warns you of a plastic odor which dissipates fairly quickly. This is the third version of a Homedics massage cushion I've owned and definitely it's the best, albeit most expensive. Frankly I think I could become addicted to this massager since I now use it once or twice during the day while working at the computer and then a prolonged session ending w/ heat prior to retiring for the night. The heat function really warms up to a noticeable and therapeutic level. I'm 5'1" and if it would move upwards towards the shoulders about another 4 inches it would be absolutely perfect. It also has a 2 yr. warranty and warns you not to use the heat for longer than 3 minutes. You do not have to time it as it automatically turns off.I am very pleased with this well made and durable product so far and really think it's great for all single dwellers to have on hand (no pun intended)for a nice massage whenever you desire.
Customer Review: Half A Happy Back? Summary: 2 Stars
I made my choice to spend $149. because of the quad-rolling and roller mechanism when compaired to 3 lesser models. Well, had I known that this only goes HALF-WAY UP BACK, also unknowingly that there was a '500' model for $50 more bucks to reach the rest of my back, I would have gotten that one. It feels really good where it does reach but as it stands, next month I will probably give this one away to a friend that has ONLY lower to mid back pain(a fellow Veteran buddy of mine) and buy the 500 model. I think this item falsely identifies itself as a full back massager....maybe if they spent the money and research and developement on that instead of the, albeit cool, blue LED lights that work while it is on, it would be a better product. If I were strapped for cash, would send it back and go through all that hassle and restocking fees but am not so, BUYER BEWARE!!! I wish I didn't have to write my first bad review from internet shopping. I even called manufacturer in case something was wrong with my machine....but evidently there have been no complaints in munchkin land, as the 400 gets ALL their back! A lot of money for what it actually does!
Customer Review: Relax...make your body go limp... Summary: 5 Stars
I tried the cheaper model at the local Walgreens and while it was enjoyable I figured a quad-roller system with two kinds of massage would be better - and happily I was right! This is worth the extra bucks because it is a much more relaxing total back and shoulder massage.
The unit is ready to go right out of the box - just unscrew the cord on the back (they include a little wrench) plug it in and sit down. I put it on my office chair and because it is a bit bigger than the other models and I had to do some re-adjusting of my chair. Once I did, it fit perfectly and is comfortable to sit on all the time (there is no mechanism in the seat - it is just an attached cushion).
There is shiatsu for lower and upper back plus a rolling massage that has an excellent width adjustment. Everything is at your fingertips with the attached controller and you can even add optional heat to any massage you get.
I have to slink down a bit to get it to do my shoulders but it really shines on the middle and lower back. My lower back never felt so good.
This is a superb alternative to a $2000 massage chair.
