I got one of these for Christmas and after using it every day since then I think it is a nice value for what it cost. My only quibble is that I wish the massage would extend a little lower down on the back. However, you can sit on top of a phone book or prop yourself up to temporarily hit those lower back spots.
The 'heat' the unit proves is somewhat mild, but I think that if it was much hotter there would be too much of it when combined with the friction heat generated by the moving massage components. I really debated giving this 4 or 5 stars but ended up going with 4 while thinking this is really a 4 1/2 star rating that got rounded down.

As an avid snowboarder who takes things to the extreme, in addition to a master's degree student who, spends hours on end on the computer writing papers each week; I am constantly getting knots in my back and have tried pretty much all the massage chairs on the market. The Homedic's Shiastsu Massager actually gets presses and pushes those knots out of your lower back, upper back, or entire back - it's all up to you! In addition, there is a heat aspect that is triggered, if you would like, when pressure is applied to the chair.
I have two other Homedics Full Body Massagers, one which was over $200; however, this one is by far my favorite.

I bought this chair along with the SBM-300H series and they both have problems with the remote part of the chairs. I returned the first chair I got (SBM-300) to Amazon and they refunded me, but then I had to replace the last two I bought and have returned them both to the vendor in hopes that I can get better chairs. They are really nice to have when they work but for how long is a good question. This will make the third chair that I've had to replace. I like shopping with Amazon, but it's frustrating when they are hard to get a hold of, because the customer service is not easy to contact, meaning it's not user friendly.Customer Review: Not Suitable for Automobile Use, Good for Big Easy Chair

The massage cushion is 4 stars when used on a big easy chair in your living room. However, the cushion did not fit well on my 1963 Cadillac DeVille, 1981 Mercedes 300SD, 1996 Toyota Previa, 1999 Ford Mustang, or 2008 Toyota Sienna. The lower massaging balls jab into my back, are extremely uncomfortable, and force the cushion too far forward. I have owned this model since year 2007, and it stills works, but I only use it a few times per year. The much cheaper Dr. Scholl's DR8573 is a better choice for automobile use. I bought one in year 2008, and it lasted until 2011, when the lower massage motor stopped working.Customer Review: Good product

This has been a great cushion. We have had it about 2 years now and used it a lot. It has held up good - still looks and works like new. It gives good heat and being able to do just the lower back or upper back or both - is great. It doesn't feel like a person giving a message, but what machine does? For a man made massage it is one of the better ones. I have actually feel asleep a few times while using it. I had my sciatic never flair up and this was a wonderful help in recovering. I would buy it again. It is a great product especially for the price.
