It is important to find the right chair for this massaging cushion. Some of our chairs were too soft or not flat enough, which allowed the massager to put too much pressure on certain areas of the back, that was uncomfortable. The Shiatsu massage is my favorite as it feels so wonderful. It really feels like the muscles are being kneaded and worked on. The rolling massage doesn't not feel good, it is just a different sensation, like a stretching. I can't comment positively or negatively on the heat part as I haven't used it sufficiently enough to notice a benefit or haven't actually notice it working strongly enough. Homedics SBM-300H Therapist Select Shiatsu PLUS Massaging Cushion with Heat: My wife was very happy with this product, but I would like to mention a few minor problems with this product.
Even though my wife puts this in a comfortable chair, the cushion is a little hard and can't be left in the chair if you use the chair all the time. Secondly, we didn't know at the time we purchased it that it only ran for 15 minutes and then automatically shuts off, constant heating and massages can hurt your back, also it was recommended for a person with diabetes shouldnt use it. Other than that its terrific.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my sister who is undergoing cancer treatment. I was hoping it would give her some comfort and relaxation during this difficult time. Of course, my entire family had to try it out Christmas day and everyone loved it. My sister likes the feature that allows you to hold it in one place to massage a sore area, plus the heat is a nice touch for her. She uses it almost every day and so far it hasn't broken yet! If she is really feeling sensitive and doesn't want the full impact of the rollers she puts it on her couch which lessens the impact of the rollers somewhat. I am sitting in my cushion as I am writing this review. This product is one of the best investments I have made in back relief products. It works best if you have a sturdy chair such as an office chair or straight back chair. It doesn't do well in a recliner though. The recliner does not allow support of the cushion, so therefore your body weight lays on the massage mechanism to the point it causes pain. I would recommend it to anyone who has any back pain. I suffer from lower back and hip pain and it really gives relief with the massage and heat. It gives a relaxing massage in other parts of the back as well. I first experienced a Homedics Shiatsu massage cushion at a sister's home, and decided I needed one. I decided on this model, and am glad that I did. I am one of those lucky people who get back spasms from stress. The Homedics SBM-300H is a fantastic stress buster. Being able to select between shiatsu and a rolling massage, being able to adjust the width of the massage heads, being able to apply heat or not - you can get the massage that you need when you need it. This is a great product, but can't say yet if the price is worth it as longevity of product is a deciding factor there, and I just got this little gem.
