Customer Review: Best massager for the money, hands down
Summary: 5 Stars

I found a deal on a slickdealz website and it sent me to amazon, paid $60 about 1 year ago. Wow now the price is $160 HO-LEE-CRIZZAP! I guess I got quite the deal on it a year ago. Anyhoosiers, I bought this to put in my office where 5 other people work and we all use it. Its been going strong for a year now, it gets used probably on average about 4-5 days per week. Its always getting used by somebody, everybody loves it. I even talked to one coworker who bought a $4000 massage chair in Hong Kong and had it shipped to the US, and hated it. He loved the Homedic though, said he wishes he bought this instead. Im not saying this is better than those big expensive full service chairs but it will save you tons of money, and if those big chairs ever break down, I am guessing it would cost a lot to fix. Anyways, no problems at all with this massage cushion and its been used roughly by some people in the office. Its still going strong! It cost me the same as one real massage would have in the US, meanwhile i've gotten hundreds of massages from this chair :) It paid for itself after like 3 uses :)

Customer Review: BEWARE: Newest version is not as good
Summary: 2 Stars

I have been a huge fan of this very SBM-300H massaging cushion since 3 years ago. However, I was very disappointed in the lastest changes they made. One of the reason this massage chair was much better than the competitors was it's ability to really knead deep into the back muscles. The newest versions changed the roller balls. Instead of being spherical balls, they are more like tiny hockey pucks with the flat puck against your back. The effectiveness of massage chair dropped significantly. Instead of feeeling like a professional massager kneading my back muscles, it was feeling more like a little kid superficially pressing my back. Extremely unsatisfying. I'm not sure why they made this devastating change... but I'm not longer a fan of this massage chair. It has lost it's competitive edge.

Beware, if you read really good reviews pay attention to its date. The raving reviews maybe due to the older design. If it was the original roller balls, I would rate this very close to 5 stars. Because of this fatal design change, I have to give it 2 stars at best.

Customer Review: Good in theory, but loud and distracting in practice
Summary: 3 Stars

I tested this out at the store before buying it, comparing it with two more expensive models - I chose this one because it had the basic features I wanted and was a good price. However on my chair at work it doesn't quite fit correctly - the back bad is very thick and my chair isn't adjustable enough to account for that. Also, the seat pad gets in the way in my opinion - I currently have it folded up behind the unit against the back of the chair.

I think this gives good massages, the pressure is good and the heat feels nice. I wish I would have gone with the model that allows for targeted pressure instead of the basic one with just upper and lower back settings. But, that was my choice.

The biggest problem right now is that the rollers squeak loudly as they move up and down. It's very loud and annoys my co-workers, making me self-conscious when I use it. I bought this mainly for work use, so this is a huge bummer.

Customer Review: Loved it -- when it worked
Summary: 2 Stars

I received this for Christmas and literally the second time I used it, it began making loud grinding noises. I was using it properly - ie not laying on it or putting excessive pressure on it, so it should be more robust than that! I tried exchanging it, but the department store it was purchased from only carried it as a seasonal (Christmas) item and didn't have any more left. Because I liked the massaging action so much, I continued using it until it finally broke completely. I then returned for a refund.

The shiatsu massage was perfect for me. I get knots in my muscles just below my shoulder blades and this hit there wonderfully. The spot massage option was ideal at keeping the massage heads there to work out the kinks. The added heat was a bonus. I like this massaging cushion so much that I'm willing to try purchasing another one. I just bought a replacement on Amazon. Hopefully this one will last a little longer.

Customer Review: Awesome massager
Summary: 4 Stars

I had a hard time choosing between the SBM-300H model and the QRM-400H model. I tried the QRM in a store and really liked how the quad rollers felt. But, one thing I didn't like was that the rollers didn't go up high enough. After reading many reviews about the SBM-300H, I found out that while this model is only a dual-roller massager, it goes up higher. The fact that my upper back/shoulder-blade area gets coverage is what made me choose this model. I just got it in the mail today and I really like it. I prefer the Shiatsu setting over the Roller setting. And with the heat, it makes the muscles on my back more relaxed. I am definitely pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone who wants a good massager that goes up higher than all the other comparable models out there. In the future, I hope that they make a model that has the same roller span but has the quad rollers, but until then, I'd say get this model.
