This is a wonderful massager that will work in any (almost) chair in your home. It has the velcro straps to hold it in place, and a control unit at hand to let you decide to use the rolling massager or the shiatsu massager. You are able to decide if you want a full back massage or just lower body or just upper body. Another great feature is that you may stop the shiatsu massage in a particular area that may need more work than others. The heat option is very relaxing, and they added on the ability to widen the shiatsu kneading or narrow it, depending on the size of the body.
This is awesome. We've had several other portable chair massagers, and this one beats them all!

I've used $2000 message chairs...they're great, but for $130 this does a very admirable job on the lower and mid back...even upper with some adjustment. This is not like the old, cheap, vibrating messagers...this is rolling, deep message...GREAT!
Firm or soft -- If it's a little too "hard" a message for you, just put a cushion or thick towel between you and the messager.
Upper back -- If your 6' or more and want it to go up higher, just move the back up and stick a small pillow under it (and behind you) to keep it higher. This will get up past your shoulder blades. The other option is add a spot messager (SP-10) to your collection for $40--can use there and on your feet, your calves, etc.
Extreme lower back -- If you want to have the rollers go even lower, just sit on a small pillow, allowing the rollers to access even lower portions of your back.

I was very wary when I bought this massager. Read many different reviews for similar items, but went with this one (reviewers rated the 400 model as inferior even though it has 4 rolling mechanisms). I'm glad I bought this! The shiatsu mode really kneads out the knots in my back, and I love that you can target in on one spot. The rolling mode feels too weak for me, but that's a personal opinion, since my sister has said it's quite harsh for her. I just had a baby 3 months ago and have been dying of back pains. Of course, with a newborn there is no time to go out and get massages, so this chair is a wonderful stand-in. I can sit there and get a massage while watching tv or even feeding the baby! I have something to look forward to every night before I wind down and when baby is finally asleep! Just a note, I am 5'5" and the rollers reach up to my shoulder blades. I found that to be just perfect.Customer Review: really, really good!

I've had the older models of homedics massagers before and always thought they make very good products but this one really takes home masssage cushions to another level! What a treat this is! Has everything I've always wanted in a massage cushion: choice of HEAT, which is such a treat for tired muscles, the MASSAGE GIVES A CHOICE OF SHIATSU OR ROLLING MASSAGE, they are both quite strong and really hit the spots that need rejuvenation after a day bending over on the computer. I like a strong massage and this is the perfect product for me. I use it almost every day, I can feel the knots within muscles being massaged away, especially around the shoulder blades and the lower back. The spot massage is available when you use the shiatsu mode and it too works those knots beautifully. I sound like a commercial but I'm just a consumer who is very happy with this product. For a senior citizen like myself, or anyone experiencing lower backaches and pain, this is the cat's meow! Instant soothing relief and relaxation with heated massage are all combined in this quality product. Seems to adapt best to an office chair but can be used in most any chair design. Take it to the office. It's like having your personal massuse come in several times a day. I like the automatic 15 minute shut-off feature, too. Easy to get set up and running. One Allen wrench screw holding the mechanism in place for shipping has to be removed and the wrench is supplied. A Velcro strap holds the cushion in place on an office chair, but is not really necessary for it to function. The multi-function controller is easy to use and understand. It is also a stress reliever, par excellence. I would not give mine up for twice the money I paid for it. If I could give it 6 stars, I would.
