I have HoMedics SS-4000 and I am really satisfied with this product. So I decided to buy HoMedics SS-4500 for my wife. It is essentially the same product with modified design. Unfortunately new design improve only appearance. Small, flat buttons have bad visibility and it is difficult to find them at touch. The labels have very bad visibility as well. It takes time and effort to change any setting. You need light and glasses to turn alarm off at the morning. Screen is little bit too bright. Existing brightness adjustment doesn't have good range. Other then that, everything is working as advertised. New projector design is big improvement. Now you can rotate it.Customer Review: an alarm clock that turns off after 30 minutes???

We got this sound machine/alarm to use for our 18-month-old daughter who would wake up at 4am on the dot every morning. We have the Homedics Lullaby Sound Spa which we have been VERY happy with but we needed something that would automatically turn on at 4am and stay on until we turned it off. We thought we had found the perfect solution but when we received it we read through the pamphlet and it states that once the alarm goes off, if it is not turned off within 30 minutes then it will AUTOMATICALLY TURN-OFF the alarm. I said what kind of an alarm has a timed auto-shut-off function? Needless to say we were very disappointed and immediately returned it. =(Customer Review: Slick

The only down falls of this clock is the time is too bright. I cover the front large numbers with a piece of card stock paper and have to turn on and off the projector time because it is too bright. I have it turned to low, but it lights up my entire bedroom. Plus, the one I bought on here was defective and I had to take it to a store and exchange it there for one that worked properly. The volume was jumpy, I would turn it up and it would turn down and then up. The power button - I would push it and 3 seconds later - every time - it would turn on/off. It was nuts! My new one works better though. Still too bright, but I love the concept.Customer Review: Nice little clock/sound spa

I really like this clock. We already had a projection clock which we love but the other one didn't have the sounds as well. I saw this and thought I would try it. We really like it. There are only two sounds that we find soothing enough to fall asleep to and our favorite is the ocean. A lot of people had complained about the light being too bright, but it doesn't bother my husband and I. If you are the type that must have a completely dark room then this clock isn't for you. The price was very good, especially since I had paid more for my other atomic clock and it was just a clock. This is two for the price of one!! I have owned a lot of these machines. I am sensitive to the clicking from the sound repeating, but I haven't noticed it on this machine. I like the waterfall & the rain sounds the best, I wish it had a white noise sound, if it did I'd have given it 5 stars. I don't find the light to be too bright--I think it's perfect. I like the time projected on the ceiling, it's a lot easier on the eyes to see the time when you're half asleep than it is to try to look at a regular digital clock. I have had no trouble with the sounds shutting off or anything like that.
