Customer Review: Really Helps the Shoulders and Lower Back!...

I've had this pillow about 4 months now and it's been great. I bought it to work my shoulder/neck muscles, and lower back. It took a little getting used to as the rotators get in pretty deep, but it's works better then any other massager I've tried.
The only downside I've found is getting comfortable can be a bit of a challenge. Sometimes you can feel the board underneath the pillow that holds the rotators in place. If not positioned just right, it can be very uncomfortable, but I've gotten better at arranging it to my liking.
If you prefer a light touch, or vibrating massage pillows, then this is probably not for you. It really works your muscles, and if your sensitive to deeper pressure, then this could be painful for you. Overall though, I really like this pillow. It's not perfect, but it makes my back feel better, and for that I can't complain!

Like others, I would like to warn about this pillow. It has a fantastic massage ability and can rid my back of knots better than any other I've owned; I'd have given it six stars if I could. I love it. In fact, I tried it at a friend's house and loved it so much that I decided to ignore the cautionary tales of many others, thinking they must have been careless owners. I am very careful with my things (still using my seven-year-old iPod daily, etc.); surely I could be the careful exception.
I have used the cushion about eight times now and It has just stopped working. It refuses to turn on. I will see how the return process goes as it is more than under the 2-year warranty (four months!). I'm so disappointed! But I certainly don't think myself the "careful exception" any longer. Be warned. Fantastic product; not made to last.

You'd think, being a pillow, that it would actually be mildly comfortable to use... but this isn't. There is like a box inside the pillow, presumably containing the motor, and in every position I would ever use this thing I can feel the edge of the box through the pillow (which has very little padding).
Why does this matter? Oh.. well.. for example, if I'm trying to use it on my neck, this box digs in to my spine -- which of course is very unpleasant and negates any pleasure received from the massage.
If you don't want to have the box hitting you, you have to barely have the massage heads touch you... so they don't really do anything.
No offense intended, but if you're a thicker person you might not notice or have a problem with this as I have... but in my case it is a deal-breaker.

I was considering this or the full massage seat (not the reclining chair) that you find in car service waiting rooms. I'm glad I bought this pillow. Do not think for a second, you will not regret this purchase.
Pros: Its smaller in size and adjustable to any angle and anywhere you want it. The heat works really good and I have seen major improvements in healing centuries old back muscle pain. It digs in and finds pain where I never thought existed. It is always near us when watching TV or movies. I love it especially because unlike my wife (and me)it doesn't tell us "I'm tired", "can I stop?" Hehehe.
Cons: One and only con I found was if you want to hit a deep spot or put much pressure on an area the motor grinds and stops. So for those stubborn spots I use Thera Cane, it does wonders.

I recently purchased one of the more expensive homedics full back seat cushion massagers. It works pretty well for the lower back but I can't seem to ever get into a comfortable enough sitting position for a good massage on my shoulders. When I saw the good reviews and reasonable price on this one I decided to give it a try. Wow, great product! Now I can acutally get some real action on my shoulders while comfortably lying down. The only down side is that sometimes I fall asleep with this thing on...wish there was an auto switch off timer(but since this is not exactly a comfortable pillow for sleeping I might wake up with even worse shoulder and neck problems!). The rollers are not close enough together for me to get a neck massage. Wish they were adjustable but for the price I'm extremely happy with the product!
