You can place this massager horizontally across any section of your back and it will hit any knot you have. I have discovered that if I place it vertically around my scapula, it is very effective at relieving headaches! You can massage only one side at a time this way, but it really works. I'm a pregnant mom of a toddler and I've got all kinds of kinks, knots, twists, and various back complaints. For 40 bucks, you can't beat the convenience of NOT having to get a sitter for your kiddo whilst you trek off to the chiropractor or masseuse. Even if it does break (comes w/ 2 yr warranty and Homedics is great about honoring this) in a month or so, I'll have gotten my money's worth. The heat feature is particularly nice. I am very pleased with this pillow. It does have a very brisk massage action, but is exactly what I needed for my neck and upper back. I have stopped going to the chiropractor and the massage therapist in his office. I have had no heavy migraines since beginning to use the pillow. I use the pillow every other day at least, since I have a profound tension problem due to my posture. Using the skills I've learned from the chiropractor's office, along with frequent massage (20 minutes at a time - every day to every other day), I have found my answer!
I would recommend this for anyone needing deep massage. You can position the pillow on the lower back or other problem areas as needed. All Stars!

If you are needing a deep muscle massage this is the one to get. There are two settings, one without heat and one with heat (the mechanism lights up red) and it has a 20 min auto shut off. I have terrible knots in my shoulders and neck and this really got them out for me. If you are having trouble on the tops of your shoulders you will need to lay in some odd angles in this, but man it does the job.
Just a word of caution! When you get this DO NOT GO OVER THE 20 MIN!! It felt so nice to get the knots out that I kept turning it back on, I felt that the next day.
Loved this so much I packaged it up and sent it on to my husband in Iraq and ordered another for me.

I gave my BKK-100 to someone who needed it right away. When it was time to replace it, I bought this, based on the stellar reviews. Sometimes I think people write reviews for the sake of seeing their words in print. This is a TERRIBLE massager. The fault lies in the fact that it has 2 different sized massagers, the right one, and a larger, flatter one that makes heat (and little of that). The bigger head does not allow the smaller one to make contact with your neck at all, completely negating it, and since it's a flat head, there is no 'shiatsu' massage, it's pointless. I sent it back and re-ordered the BKK-100, and immediately wrote this to save YOU from making the same mistake I did!Customer Review: The gift that keeps on givining

I just got this little pillow for my wife as a Christmas present and she loved it. I do too:-) We both enjoy a good massage and this little pillow packs some massage power. I think this pillow will make a nice compliment to the SMB-300H, which my wife will receive on Christmas day. shhhhhh. The nice thing about a pillow is that you can move it around and hit the spots that are really sore and you can take it with you when you travel. Like any massage mechanism, their is a mechanical sound when in use, but that was expected and doesn't ruin the experience. It comes with a long chord so that you have room to move the pillow around. I recommend it and as usual, Amazon got it here fast!
