Customer Review: Misnomer

The first thing I'd like to point out is that calling this a 'massaging mat' is a misnomer. I completely understand why some people would be very disappointed as this is more a vibration-only mat. In fact, if you have a muscle needing actual deep tissue massage, the vibration may only aggravate the muscle resulting in increased pain.
The reason I ordered the mat is for sciatica. At night the pain appears and was keeping me awake. The vibration serves as what is basically a sensation distraction for the brain. In fact, at this level, it's effective enough to allow me huge relief and a good night's rest. The high-low settings and ability to use only one third, two thirds, or the full mat at once are great.
So if you forget the notion of this massaging anything and use it for sensory re-routing for trigger points, you may find it beneficial. But they truly need to drop the word 'massage' from the name as it certainly does no such thing.
