Customer Reviews of Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Size 4, 126-CountCustomer Review: Faithful Huggies Customer...two kids and counting Summary: 5 Stars
I have used a lot of diapers between my son and my daughter. I have tried many different brands, and I just love Huggies. I have never had any problems, and I feel they are good quality. The only time my kids ever leaked is when we use generic diapers or the Pampers baby dry (Pampers Cruisers are great, too!). I have always found that elastic waisted diapers work better and fit better, especially with mobile babies!
Little tip I learned: In my experience, if you don't unfold the elastic around the thigh before you put them on, the diapers will leak. It's not enough to just open them up and slap them on. When I started fully opening the diapers before putting them on, I stopped having a problem with leaks. (Of course, when you have a morning diaper that weighs a few pounds, it will leak for a different reason!!)
Also, I've seen a few reviews from parents who have stated that the Huggies bought online are of lower quality than what they have purchased in the stores. In my experience, I have never had this problem purchasing from Amazon, and I have never found this to be true. The Huggies I purchase from Amazon appear to be the same great Huggies I've always bought from my local grocery store, and local Walmart , and they react the same as any other "store purchased" diapers, with the exception that they arrive on my doorstep.
Customer Review: Only thing that doesn't leak... Summary: 4 Stars
I have four children and each one of required a different brand of diaper. First and second babies could wear ANY diaper so I bought the cheaper store brand from Sam's club. Baby #3 needed Luvs. He leaked out of Huggies, Pampers worked, but so did Luvs which were cheaper. With baby #4, Huggies is the only thing he DOESN'T leak out of. This baby wets his diaper all at once with a flood! Huggies is the only diaper than absorbs fast enough to catch it all. I think it's because the Huggies have more of the 'gel' in them to asborb the liquid - this is also what makes them so nasty and squishy when wet. Pampers could probably hold the volume without leaking if he didn't deliver it so fast! If your baby is leaking out the diaper when the diaper isn't really wet, this is probably the issue. So my advice to new parents... get a few different brands (including the Snuggle brand from Sam's) and find which one works best. It varies a lot from baby to baby. Also - I use Huggies overnights diapers at night when my son starts to leak at night. When he leaks out of the overnights at night, we move up to the next diaper size. Saves a bit of $ since there are more diapers per package in the smaller sizes.
I'm only giving these a 4, since I too have pulled the tabs off these diapers. Huggies needs to attach them better.
Customer Review: Good but there is even better Summary: 4 Stars
Now that I have changed thousands of diapers I can tell you this:
1. No diaper on the American market leaks. If it does, it is because of a) user error (Check in this case the great advice that many have given on this issue), or b) the kid explosed :-) (because of diarrhea, constipation.. you then need to fix that problem).
2. Diapers differ in their ease of use and a little in their ability to absorb. Huggies are one of the nicest in that area.. however, after changing thousands of diapers and using all possible brands, we have decided to buy only Walgreens diapers. They are regularly on sale for $5.99 or BOGO and they are JUST AS GOOD as the Huggies and definitely better than Pampers.
In conclusion, Buy Walgreen's diapers and put the saved money in a college fund. That is a better way to show your love to your child. If you already have a college fund, use that money for a vacation, if you already have all the money to buy whatever you want, give the $100-$300 saved a year to a charity. UNICEF for example could use that money to buy formula for starving kids.
Customer Review: Good diapers, poor shipping from Amazon Summary: 2 Stars
I ordered 3 boxes of the size 3 and 1 box of the size 4 diapers on Feb 28th (due to one of Amazon's sales). Today is April 11th and none of the diapers have shipped.
I contacted Amazon customer service recently and they were nice enough to change my order to cancel the size 3 (as these would no longer fit) and only get more boxes of the size 4's however the shipping estimate now projects into early May. They also rebooked my order under a new order number, which probably helps their 'on time' metrics, but I think this only hurts my ability to get these in a timely manner.
Overall, good price, I like getting them shipped to my door and have had no problems before but this delay is just getting ridiculous. If Amazon or their vendor can't fulfill in a timely manner, they should stop taking orders - plain and simple.
Update - April 12th
The day after I posted the above review my 3 boxes of Huggies mysteriously were shipped out via Fedex for next day arrival (I only paid super saver). All arrived intact. Thanks Amazon!
Customer Review: Terrible diapers...don't waste your money. Summary: 1 Stars
These are very poor quality diapers. I can't believe people actually buy these diapers and like them. Some how Huggies is making a generic quality diaper and selling them at a premium price. If you are going to buy these save yourself some money and buy the cheapest generic diaper you can find and I'm sure it will be the same quality. First of all they are so hard and scratchy. The Disney design on them is just plain ugly and obnoxious and they have these big flap like things that hang out in the back of the leg gathering. It's like they are to lazy to cut them properly. They have a really gross/wired chemical smell to them, at least Pampers takes the time to scent their diapers so they don't smell like that. Worst of all they leak really bad. I constantly had leaks and blow outs. Since they aren't flexible at all my baby always had red marks on her skin from them. They are just terrible all around, don't even waste your money on these. I have switched to Pampers Swaddlers and I'm never looking back.
