Customer Reviews of Imak Products Adjustable Pil-O-Splint Nighttime Wrist Splint - Great for Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, Wrist Tendonitis # 10112Customer Review: Great splint, very comfortable Summary: 5 Stars
I have had carpal tunnel syndrome for a decade. My doctors neglected to tell me how important it is to wear a splint at night. Finally an orthopedic doc said to wear a splint nightly because the nerves are more active (they aren't sure why) and most folks sleep with their hands curled. I tried several other drug-store elastic types but would find them uncomfortable and take them off. This splint is very soft, warm and has a soft cushion for your palm. The splint has a slit on both the right and left sides for your thumb so you can use it for either hand. There are 2 types of splints, one had an adjustable velcro strap and the other does not. I find the one with the velcro strap easier to use and it does not slip off as easily as I can adjust the strap. I am ordering one for my other hand.
Customer Review: What a relief? Summary: 5 Stars
I am a computer programmer so I use my mouse all day and usually into the evening as well. I am right handed and my wrist began aching a year or so ago, sometimes more painful than others but it came time that it really started effect my work as well as my sleep. I would wake up in the morning and my wrist would still ache as well as it was popping a lot when I moved it left and right so I researched braces, read reviews and seemed like this is what I needed. From the first time I slept wearing this, I noticed a different, I was amazed to wake up the next morning with no pain. I now where this nightly and have not had an aching wrist once since wearing. I also ended up buying a Futoro Wrist Brace that allows me to move my fingers and thumbs while doing work.
Customer Review: Amazing Relief! Summary: 5 Stars
I just about had it with all the different slings and compression bandages. Even though I severly sprained my upper forearm, the pain was all the way down into the wrist and fingers. I was in agony. This was a gift from my wish list, whew what a lifesaver! I would recommend this to anyone who has tendonitis or any such condition. It's comfortable, light yet sturdy. The splint part runs on top of the forearm, which is great protection because you would be surprised how many times during the day that you bonk your arm against things. The palm cushioning is a beaded pillow thing, while the thumb is held at a very comfortable position on the outside. I love this thing. I've got some other needs that I'll go back to this company to look for. Thanks
Customer Review: Good product Summary: 4 Stars
This splint is comfortable to wear, and has improved my wrist pain. I work on a computer 8 hours a day, so I do still have some wrist discomfort, but this product has definitely improved it. It's not easy to get on by yourself, so you'll want some help. Although you don't have a lot of use of your hand after you put this on, it's intended for sleeping in, and you do have basic use. My finger tips come out of the end, and your thumb is free, but don't expect to do anything that requires full use of your hand. The material is soft and comfortable, and after washing it regularly (every 1-2 weeks) for a few months now it shows no damage or anything.
I would recommend this for anyone looking for a new or alternative wrist splint.
Customer Review: Bad design, isn't "one size fits all" Summary: 1 Stars
First, the fastening system is completely backward and makes it as difficult as possible to put on. I've never seen another wrist brace that fastens like this, and for good reason.
Also, it's terribly small. It claims to be "one size fits all" but I guess they just mean "one size fits all women and small men". I went to the store and tried on several other brands and they all fit me fine.
When I did manage to jam my arm into it, the dorsal splint wouldn't stay aligned with my arm (because it's too small and because the fastening system is silly), so it also didn't immobilize my wrist very well. Color me unimpressed. I bought two better-designed braces at the store for nearly the same price as this.
