Customer Reviews of Imak Products Smart Glove Wrist Support Reversable - Size Medium

Customer Review: Relief at Work
Summary: 5 Stars

I work in an office environment, typing reports, doing data entry, and whatever other matters that require sitting in front of a computer. I noticed lately that my right wrist and palm were becoming painful and sensitive. After checking around online for an ergonomic glove, I settled for this one.

Pros:
- The flexible splint. Just enough to keep my wrist/hand movements in a natural range of motion, but stiff enough to discourage me from flexing or bending my wrist too far.
- The beads on the palm. It's like the cushion that you sometimes find with ergonomic mouse pad. I hate the ergonomic mouse pads because they actually made my wrist aches worse. While I got the benefit of the arched wrist ergonomics so desires, the mouse pad hindered my mousing. With the glove I have a pad that moves with me.
- Fits just right...if you know your size. I used a ruler and determined I needed a medium glove. If you're in doubt do your measurements with a cloth measuring tape.
- Well designed. It doesn't need 10 individual straps to fit around your palm/wrist/forearm. I need ergonomic support, not a glorified cast. The glove was initially tight on my forearm, but it did stretch to fit as time went on.

Cons (very minor at this point):
- Splint may be too flexible for some. If you need more stiffness you can probably replace it with something firmer.
- Hand washing recommended, but the bead section takes longer to dry than the rest of the glove.
- Beads get in the way of mousing. Take that with a grain of salt, because my therapist said I'm a terrible with mousing ('clawing' as she called it). Old habits die hard, but at least this glove is helping out.

For you lefties this glove is reversible. I actually find the glove more comfortable on my left hand, even though my right is the one experiencing the wrist and palm issues.

Overall this glove is a lifesaver. I noticed there was almost no pain on day one. Since then it has even helped with my wrist overall when I take it off after work. So research Amazon and other websites to see what ergo glove best fits you. It's a small investment with a huge payoff.

Customer Review: Helps me relieve pain in my wrist
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm a young professional programmer and admittedly my wrists didn't begin to hurt until I started playing video games for an extended period of time (read:Starcraft 2). I purchased the Smart Glove because I began to experience pain in my wrists even after I was not at the computer. Plain and simple for me, the glove immobilizes my wrists just enough to discourage incorrect wrist positions and the bean bag elevates my wrist appropriately. I now wear the glove to work and when I'm playing video games. I feel no pain and I'm at the computer 12+ hours a day.

Pros:
- Bean bag under wrists at a perfect height to align my wrist with my mouse so I'm not flexing my wrist at an odd angle causing pain. The mouse I'm using is a Logitech Performance MX darkfield. The mouse has a higher profile than most which may be the reason it fits so well.
- Glove is nice and snug. I'm wearing a small because... well I have small hands. I would recommend that you find your size. My glove doesn't slide around and the bean bag is never out of position.
- The splint at the top is firm but not flimsy. It allows for flexibility like other users have commented. I do not wish it to be more stiff because I prefer the flexibility and it's firm enough to discourage unwanted wrist position
- Reversible!

Cons:
- I anticipate this guard to break down after a year like the other users have commented. Perhaps a more durable material can be placed below the bean bag to increase its life. However, for $10 per wrist it's silly not to wear one because it prevents further nerve damage. $10 is my copay for a doctor's visit.
- It only comes in black. No tiger print, hot pink, or sky blue colors. Meh.

TL;DR
My wrists do not hurt after wearing this guard

Customer Review: Terrible Product
Summary: 1 Stars

The Imak Smart Glove is meant to keep wrist in a ergonomically correct position, and increase comfort and circulation, but it doesn't come close to the promise (see Cons). Simple put, this a horrible product. Don't waste your money, returned in 24 hours of arriving.

PROS: Washable and Reversible.

CONS: Where to start?
1. The cheap plastic and foam splint, on only the top, leaves your wrist with a full range of movement. Not a good thing when movement is what you are trying to prevent. I found that my wrist was still in the "bad" positions even will wearing.

2. The "ErgoBeads" don't increase comfort, as it is like holding a beanbag in your hand the entire time. I had a terrible time typing, using my mouse, and basically every other activity that requires gripping. They also don't increase circulation, they just don't restrict it.

3. The overall manufacturing is poor. When I first put the Smart Glove on I could hear the stitching breaking. The thumb hole is to tight and during active use is painful. The fabric also doesn't breath, so your wrist will be hot and sweaty.

Other: If you need something for computer use buy a keyboard/mouse wrist support, as they work better and are cheaper.

Customer Review: Smart Glove is Truly Smart!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought one of these IMAK smart gloves about 6 years ago from my chiropractor's office. I was having some hand and wrist pain at the time. Since then, I wore the smart glove whenever I was using the computer keyboard repetitively, particularly a laptop which does not have any wrist support. The glove has greatly prevented me from developing carpal tunnel syndrome. My wrist is doing quite well. The glove is flexible and comfortable. What I like is there is no velcro straps like some wrist supports. The other thing, are the beads in the palm of the glove. They really provide some extra padding for my palm. So, after my other glove was worn down to the threads, I found the same brand on Amazon and ordered one. It's the same design as 6 years ago, and I am so happy with that. I hope they stay in business a long time, I will want to buy more of their products.
