The Best Hair Straightener on the market, and I have used a few. Has temperature settings which is really important since everyone has different hair textures/thickness. This one always leaves my hair completely straight, shiny and smooth.. and I have what you would consider unruly, coarse hair.
The only thing I would use as warning is to not try to use it in a different country, even if you have a plug convertor. I tried using it in France and since the voltage was above what the straightener could handle, it fried it and the ceramic plates actually melted the plastic. So if you do use it in Europe, make sure its the right voltage.
Otherwise, I believe this is well worth the cost, especially for my thick and coarse hair.

I bought this product last spring and right after I got it, it work amazingly. My hair was perfectly straight, even though naturally it is very thick and curly. It used to take me over 20 minutes to straighten my hair and then it only took me 6 or 7. However, now that I have had it for a little over a year, it has started to burn out and now it takes me about 20 minutes again and it is not as straight as I would like it to be. I have not taken care of it perfectly and it has been dropped a few times, but the period of time where it worked the best was in the first 6 months or so and then it started dying out.
Overall, this is a great straightener, just know that the first results you get from it don't last for very long.

I have very coarse, curly hair and I live in humid Seattle. I just got my hair cut a few weeks ago and my stylist used this product on my hair. I was amazed at how easily and quickly it straightened my hair. I had her order me one and it just arrived yesterday. I takes ten to fifteen minutes for me to straighten now where as other straighteners took thirty minutes or more. This is well worth the price and is much better than the more expensive CHI turbo. I would recomend this product to anyone with coarse or curly hair who does not have a lot of time to style or just doesn't want to spend the time but still get great results!Customer Review: Horrible product

I bought this iron from a salon. I wouldn't buy it again. Within six months the adhesive on the plates melted, allowing the plates to fall out. I couldn't find my purchase info so couldn't do anything about the warranty. I reglued the plates using a high-temp adhesive which held but reeked at the higher temps required to straighten my hair. If that weren't enough, there appears to be a loose connection in the 360-degree rotating cord, and now I have to hold the thing "just right" in order to get it to heat. I am buying a new iron, and this piece of junk is going straight into the trash.

This flat iron works great! I have been using this iron since it was still called UNIL. I have also used a Chi and this works as good or better than the Chi. I am a cosmetologist of six years, and I use this on, and sell this to all of my clients!
If I could give this more stars I would, because this iron is fabulous!!
**Make sure to be using a shine treatment with this such as Biosilk (personal favorite), to protect your hair from the heat. They work hand in hand to infuse the shine and moisture into your hair.
