I have used the older model Interplak NT7 for many years, after unsatisfactory experiences with several much more expensive power toothbrushes. My teeth are a bit crowded and therefore slightly irregular, and the reciprocating action of the Interplak gets into areas that neither rotating nor sonic brush heads could reach. No other type of toothbrush does as good a job of cleaning my teeth at the gumline.
The Interplak toothbrushes are quite cheaply made, but I don't consider that a problem since they are also cheaply sold. I really like the direct plug-in configuration of the new model DPI6, and unlike some other reviewers I find it to have plenty of power. Indeed, mine operates at a slightly higher speed than did my NT7, so it cleans even faster. It holds a charge far longer than the original model. I also appreciate the 2-year warranty.
The current unavailability of replacement heads is annoying, but if necessary I am willing to replace the whole thing a couple of times a year. By using a clear gel toothpaste and occasionally cleaning the brush head in peroxide, I have been able to use the brush heads far longer than the suggested 3 months. Hopefully they will get the supply problems straightened out; in the meantime I am docking the product rating one star because of this issue.
