I've been an Interplak user for many years, and truly believe that no other electric toothbrush can come close. When I get my teeth cleaned, my dental hygienist can tell if I haven't been using my Interplak. No other brand can get in between teeth or polish tooth as well. Yes, it's true that Interplak has had a reputation of hit-and-miss as far as when a unit will need to be replaced. My last unit was an Interplak NT7CS Triple Action Power Plaque Remover and lasted me three years. I opted for the DPI9R after reading reviews that the battery could go for days and hold a charge -- my previous Interplak toothbrushes would maintain a weak charge at best if not constantly kept in the charging cradle. This unit comes with a high and low setting, but the low setting doesn't seem to offer much value. HOWEVER, the high setting is very powerful compared to all other Interplak units. And the battery does indeed hold a charge for a few days without being plugged in (at least on my recently purchased unit). The travel kit and no need for a charging stand are just bonuses to me. I purchased this unit in hopes that it would be more powerful than others, and it is. I highly recommend it.
