Talk about FAST delivery, I ordered this on the 6th and received it on the 8th.
The chair came in one very large box and the footrests came in a medium-sized box. They were delivered at the same time. The boxes were in great condition. The delivery person rang the bell and left before I could open the door. I'm glad I was home so the packages didn't sit outside all day.
Upon removing the items from the boxes, the wheelchair and footrests were found to be in perfect condition.
The wheelchair was exactly as described in the ad. The footrests were a teeny bit fussy about locking into place. But they did lock. I wanted to make sure they were fine before we used the chair, so I talked with a representative at Invacare. The call to Invacare was speedy and the rep. was courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly.
I purchased this product for taking Mom shopping, sightseeing on vacations, going to parks and festivals - times when walking long distances or periods of time are necessary.
Having rented wheelchairs, including Invacare, before this purchase, I knew we would be happy with the one of their 20-inch models since she appreciated the bit of extra room to shift positions and to keep her purse. This chair feels easy to move and store. Haven't used it yet since we just received it, but I know that we will like this one as much as the rentals :).
ON EDIT - Sept. 16, 2010.
I used this chair on a couple of outings now - once pushing my mother (reason I bought this chair) in a park on an asphalt path and once in an indoor shopping mall. During these short jaunts I found myself tiring while pushing the chair, something I hadn't felt when using rental chairs. I'm solidly built and the lady I was pushing is 170 pounds - well under the 250 lb rating of the chair.
One day my mother and I stopped by a store and I decided to use their wheelchair. It turned out to be the same model as ours, the Tracer EX2. It provided me a chance to see if it was easier to push than mine. It turned out to be the same experience.
Like I stated in my earlier review, I have rented wheelchairs in the past and liked them. One of my favorites was an Invacare, and I thought it was the same model as this one, but now I don't think it was this model after all.
So while I'm happy to have this wheelchair on hand for infrequent usage, I think I'll continue to rent heavier-duty chairs for vacations where lots of movement is required at destinations and sightseeing.
If/when the day comes that my mother becomes wheelchair bound, I'll likely purchase a heavier-duty wheelchair or a rental model or ???...something that moves easier.
